  1. Foxes??? You know already which Critter Patrol you'll be in?? we had to wait until the night of the Blue & Gold when we did crossover with out Troop Guides into at BSA Troop, and we changed from our Den Numbers to Patrols..
  2. That's what I was thinking BP.. Thanks..
  3. I was told at Wood Badge that there are standard, and loose fitting sizes with the shorts???
  4. If I could just throw in a curveball. What is the Crew member is dating one of the Advisors??
  5. Agreed Eagle92... this is about the boys.. not adults trying to become generals, which I've seen my share of, and adults at a higher level so that can avoid being around the boys..
  6. Hello and welcome.. ditto from all above.. and enjoy Venturing..
  7. I saw some of that myself. Although I part all but a few were used staves. Although adorned with stuff, they were used. Mine is a simple peice of wood I found in the woods, and although I've used it several times, I need to lacker it. I heard a quote by someone, that "The BSA would be great if it wasn't for the boys"...
  8. Well, just passing along some information I got.. I wasn't there, but like I said I spoke to a couple of Staff members who were there.. Any How, The idea of Scouts and Scouter booing anyone is in bad taste and breaks the Law of the Scout. I hope that some of these words are getting filtered down to those who did this, and I hope they can see some light. I didn't vote for the man, and I don't like him as a president, but I'd never boo him.. nor any other person. And from another thread where I read a parent decided to wait to turn in his son's Eagle Project so as to get this President's signatu
  9. We had a few 18 year olds in our class. They all did very well, and worked well with the older members.. I think learning can always be had.. you can take th esame course over and over, and get something new out of it every time.. That's why staffing WB is on my future list.
  10. I did take everyones advice.. i brought two chairs etc.. I would like to add to the list, and this is only if our going to the week long course. But bring cokes.. I needed a lot of extra energy on the course.. also bring a camp stove. all of our cooking was done over a fire. but somethings worked better over a stove. Also bring plenty of craft stuff. I would even suggest to find some good dry long logs about 3-4 inches in diameter. and lots of rope and para cord. a Wood working kit, and even something you can maybe burn the wood for effect. Bring extra activity shirts, and plenty of socks. A g
  11. I just got back this weekend from a week long Wood Badge course here in The Trans Atlantic Council, "TAC". Was a great course which really helped me on what I needed help on. The outdoor skills I already had, so spending the week doing it this was was better for ME. I would recommend this course to any one. Was well done, and presented. I feel a bit like they squeezed 10 days into a 7 day course though. And I would have loved to have had the chance to have done more camp projects, but we did all right. We were in a camp setting all week. With access to showers and QM cooked food. I spoke to so
  12. Well, just got back home last night late. Was a great week, but a long one. Seemed like we were there for two weeks. But again a great time. Seems that after that week, I am ready for anything. Loads of information passed around, but sadly National will not allow the Staff to give out this information. Found out that not many Councils hold the course for a week straight, man that weekend way of doing it sure makes a difference in the experience. Having that break in the middle means more time to work on Tickets, and Patrol Projects. Our course was held outdoors, we sleep in Tents for the week,
  13. Hey Everyone, I just got back from Wood Badge and spoke about this to two people from my Patrol who just got back from Staffing National Jambo. I was told by both that the scout weren't boooing the President, but something else. This something slips my mind for the moment, but it has something to do with the organizers or something. It was explained to me.. but WB took a lot out of me..
  14. Firstly, welcome Scouteralpsteg. Iam at this time currently attending wood Badge this very week. Although today was just day 2. We have covered much and have experienced much of what you are saying. Here the staff are covering the syllabus 100%. and I know this because they have stressed the point. I love what I have done so far with so many lesions learned and seeing the lengths the staff and course have done to help us to see ourselves in the mirror. And on top of this it has given all of us, cubs, scouts & venturers leader a much better under standing of each other. In fact there is n
  15. To add my two cents I'd first like to say that there should be no place for politics in Scouting. I think that there is too much to learn and do then to waist it studding the parties.. those days will come soon enough for the boys. Although I didn't agree with what the Democratic party, the ACLU, and the Office of the President have been doing in reference to the BSA. I also don't agree with Adults openly specking ill of the Office of the President. I read Gov. Perry's book and found it a great read, and very informative about the political side of Scouting. And what groups like the ACLU, and
  16. Thanks guys, I already have a lot of supplies like colored paper, and the standard scissors etc.. I do have a roll of leather I could take with me leather kit.. that would be kool.. don't know if I'll need it, but I can take it as long as I will have access to my POV.
  17. Good advice.. I have to prepare for that, and get the extras ready..
  18. Well, this is a one week course, so I will have to get it right the first time.. so you suggest bringing sweets? Thanks..
  19. We're asked to bring a folding chair.. I will be going up in my truck, so I plan to bring more then needed.
  20. Well, I'm headed to Wood Badge in a week and a half. I got my list from the Director, and was wondering if there are any special items you might suggest I bring to make my course a better and happy one? Thanks in advance ScoutBox
