  1. Personally I would recommend Optoma Brand.

I have a Optoma Pro150s. But that Model is discontinued.

I use it for Movies, Computer Presentations.

Why Buy a Big Screen when you can get a Device that is portable and you can virtually get TV that is Changeable in size..

Price out a TV that is 27 feet Wide by 15 feet high...and see if you can get one for under 1000

I would recommend no less than 2800 Lumens and at least 3000:1 Contrast ratio

Most have at least 5000:1 Contrast Now and Many are 3D Ready

I have set Mine up outdoors

I will never buy another TV

  2. Painted Tiger Ceremony

Materials: Black, Yellow and Red Paint, Tiger Paws

Indian Drummer begins soft, slow rhythmic beat.

Cubmaster: Would the Tiger Cubs and their partner please come forward.

Cubmaster: For the past few months, you and your family have explored new and exciting things and places. You have taken each part of the Tiger Cub Motto: Search, Discover, Share and used it in your home, school, and neighborhood.

You and your partner have searched out new activities which have shown you how people work and have fun together

Cubmaster: Do you want to wear the sign of the Tiger? If you do, please say "yes".

    Tigers: Yes

Cubmaster: We will give you the sign of the Tiger which will start you on your journey along the Scouting Trail. You will need lots of support from your family as you try to attain Cub Scoutings' highest honor, the Arrow of Light.

The black on your cheeks is for happiness along the Tiger Trail.

(Paint two horizontal stripes on each cheek)

The yellow on your chin is for sunlight along the Wolf Trail.

(Paint two vertical stripes on chin)

The red on your forehead is for bravery when you attempt the Bear Trail.

(Paint two vertical stripes on forehead)

Tiger Cubs, remember the meaning of your Tiger paint. It shows that you are ready to move along the upward trail of Scouting.

I will now present your paws. Thank you and enjoy the rest of the evening.

  3. - Has your unit been greatly inconvenienced by rules in your area on firewood transport?

    No we don't travel far

    - Do you traditionally bring firewood to a campouts, or use what's available at the site?

Well for Campfires we scrounge Wood..Wood Burns no different when it comes to just watching and as a light source

For Use with the BBQ Trailer I bring good woods for cooking...Of Course being in Texas I have an abundance of Mesquite but I also once in awhile buy Hickory, Apple, and Oak...I prefer Seasoned wood for Heat Source and a Green wood for Smoking

  5. Merit Badge Councilors are separate from Troops..

Your not held accountable by them and certainly NO Committee Chair

There are requirements to be meet. Obviously Boys will use a Merit Badge Councilor they like or because they are easiest. If a Boy is gonna quit over 1 Merit Badge then there is more to the Story

To me the only reason a Troop Has their Own Merit Badge Councilor is to just get signed off and fly by.

If a Scout wants the easy route they are welcome to use another Councilor, I won't waste my time meeting the Boy's expectation of what needs to be done vs what the requirements are.

I am a Merit Badge Councilor for Reptile and Amphibian Study, Nature and Pets.

I had an Issue once with a Cooking Merit Badge Councilor once on My Menus...I Did Cornish Hen, Sirloin Steak, Pork Tenderloin, and other Classy Foods. Made a Point that I had to Prepare the Menues.. I listed Tin Foil and Dutch Oven as Cookware.. Made a Point I had to cook with the Cookware...After 1 Day at Camp he signed off on My Merit Badge, said it was the best Camp cooking he ever had. Only Cookware used was Tin Foil and 1 Dutch Oven..

Oh and we had Pineapples as Desert everyday .. :) To this day I can eat Pineapple every meal if I could..even at work I pick Pineapple chucks out of the Fruit Cocktail to eat.

  6. For All You Trailer Haters..

Where do you put all the Equipment if you have No Trailer and the Adults do not have Enough Car Space to Carry it and Boys Also?

In 1983 our Philmont OA Contingency barely had enough room for Scouts, Adult and all of our gear in a Single Passenger Van for the 502 Mile Road Trip..We were a Poor Group we could not afford the Charter Bus like Rich Troops normally do. And that Was with one of Group Driving in From West Point to meet us there

  8. Money Left Over...Rules covered

    Materials....Not Really Covered..

Materials in regards to Project..Planning Correctly or Inappropriately...

Example Build a Local Dog House for Humane Society

Plan for 2 Dog Houses which would require 5 Sheets of 3/4 Plywood...might Miss Cut so you buy 6..or Plan wrong thinking you need 20 per house and have 35 Left Over plus 1000 lbs of Nails 600 Squares of shingles and 3000 2x4s which coincides with the needed Materials to build the New Tree house in his Backyard he always wanted..

The OP claims the Beneficiaries was approached and afforded the chance to claim left over Materials. They did not want it, so it is up to the Scout what he does with it.. Personally I say have him check his receipts that he paid for and return everything he can that he paid for outta pocket. As Long as he did not intentionally deceive anyone in his fund raising in order to profit he is not in the wrong

  9. cut and pasted from

    http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/Media/InsigniaGuide/03.aspx

    Excess Insignia

With the exception of the Cub Scout badges of rank and Arrow Points, members wear only the insignia that show their present status in the movement. Members should make every effort to keep their uniforms neat and uncluttered. Previously earned badges and insignianot representing present statusmake a fine display on a BSA red patch vest, a trophy hide or blanket, exhibited in the home of the recipient, or at functions where such a display is invited. Members may wear only temporary patches (no badges of rank) on the back of the merit badge sash. Members may wear only one merit badge sash at a time. A merit badge sash is never worn on the belt.

Personally I see no problem with a scout who gets a Special Jacket and attaches patches to it..Myself I would not do it simply because I collect the Patches and They will wear out as the Garment gets cleaned or torn and ragged out and what do you do when the jacket gets worn out or out grown...

If I did it it would be done on a Windbreaker type not a Heavy cold weather type.
