Comrade Obama is at it again! http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/03/president-obama-asks-medvedev-for-space-on-missile-defense-after-my-election-i-have-more-flexibility/ The best part of the conversation is definitely when the go-between lackey Medvedev says, "I understand... I will transmit this information to Vladimir." Maybe Emperor Obama should tell us what exactly he plans to do that's so secret he can't tell us now because he's positive it would cost him the election?

There aren't enough facts available to make a quality judgement. It's entirely possible that when told to disengage Zimmerman yelled something provocative at the kid and then went back to his SUV. Before getting back to the SUV the kid starts beating on him and Zimmerman has to pull the trigger to get him to stop. It's also possible Zimmerman initiated the scuffle, started getting beat down and then resorted to his firearm out of cowardice. This was a killing is probably not in cold blood so much as the result overzealous watchman who offended a young man to the point of him reacting violently. Again, there's no knowing that until we get more information.

To insinuate any one of the four GOP candidates is less intelligent than Biden is completely disingenuous. If you're going to argue intellectual capacity, I'll say Santorum may not be as intelligent as Obama, but that's it. The other three are leaps and bounds ahead of Obama, especially when it comes to adherence to a personal philosophy. Santorum does have a personal philosophy he adheres to, but I don't think "Men are awesome and burn the unbaptized" is a well thought out personal philosophy. Given that he's a dolt who acts in typical neo-con fashion, he's still better qualified to be President than Biden. I'm beginning to think the best thing that might happen in the race now is this; GOP keeps the House Senate is split 50-50 Rand Paul is VP Romney is POTUS I say that's my optimist hopes because I know we'll never have a Libertarian House, Progressive Senate, and Ron Paul/Jesse Ventura Presidency...
-
I always wondered what the motivation for making Biden VP was. Turns out it's to make Reps and Dems alike pray that nothing ever removes Obama from office prematurely.
-
But anyway. Back to the original topic. http://www.wnd.com/2012/03/sheriff-joes-posse-probable-cause-obama-certificate-a-fraud/ Sheriff Joe Arpaio believes there's a preponderance of evidence to believe Barack Hussein Obama's Hawaii Birth Certificate is a forgery.

Reptilians are a kind of space alien... Consider yourselves awoken to the truth! I apologize to anyone who has not yet figured how firmly my tongue's been planted in cheek.

Speaking of conspiracy theories. Last night, Andrew Breitbart had a heart attack on his way home and died. It's now coming out that the Obama administration had the CIA assassinate Breitbart. Why would the Obama administration want Breitbart dead? http://www.prisonplanet.com/media-trailblazer-andrew-breitbart-dies-aged-43.html
-
Can we do Dems too? Pelosi - Reptilian Hillary - Reptilian Obama - Reptilian It's a well known fact that they're orchestrating the collapse of our nation and the slow release of verification of the existence of aliens so that it doesn't come as a surprise when the world in in chaos and the Reptilians come to Earth to enslave... I mean "help" us all.

While this article is indeed ridiculous, why has nobody addressed Arpaio's main claim? Obama's Social Security # is a Connecticut SS#, not a Hawaiian one. It's probably another innocuous reason, but not addressing the concern fuels the presumed validity of the claim to the conspiracy theorist. packsaddle brings up an interesting point though. This is not a road that should be pursued as it places an unreasonable burden on every candidate forever more. If Obama was removed from office in this way, it would create a similar movement against every president of every party for the rest of our future. As far as I understand it, he's ineligible even though he's born here because of the Founders' intent to correlate the Law of Nations definition of "natural born citizen", because they wouldn't have used such a specific and significant term if not to mean the most specific and significant definition of the term in their time. However, it's useless to argue that point because the courts have ruled against the Founders in cases previous to this, and so the best way to remove Obama from office now is simply to vote him out in November.
-
The eligibility issue is rearing it's head again. Sheriff Joe Arpaio seems to be concerned that Barack Obama has not passed the E-Verify test. http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/media-finally-paying-attention-to-eligibility/ I am quite amused by this whole process. The conclusion is obvious. The imposter Emperor Obama will be dethroned and all of his tyranny will be reversed. /sarcasm On a more serious note, it makes you wonder if folks are too quick to sweep this issue under the rug and dismiss it. Surely there's no harm in investigating the issue in the way it's being pursued by Sheriff Joe, but what exactly are they hoping to prove? Though highly unlikely, it's humorous to think of the absolute chaos this would throw the world into. Imagine the outcome and try to tell me it wouldn't be the most humorous situation ever in history.

Dr. Paul proposes a destination, being the radical but philosophically pure idea. He does not propose overnight change, but rather that we head down the path in the direction of that philosophically pure idea. As a congressman he can remain pure in voting as his objections are token in many cases. What's exciting is that as president he can make some pretty great radical changes alone like bringing home the troops. However, the constitution protects the law of the land from radical change, and so his monetary policy, budget balancing, etc would take a consensus that would be difficult to build. He knows the right direction, and like a compass will always point towards it. In a weak executive position like the constitution creates the presidential position to be, a compass is the best form of chief.

Or we can see them in an irrational light, like BS-87 does (uness he's kidding - and I honestly doubt that) What part of the post on Iran lends you to believe I actually think Iran is a plausible threat to the United States? It was probably the first line. Snooty liberals tend to dismiss things they don't agree with after they read the first line because they don't believe someone who disagrees with them could ever bring about a valid point. That arrogance and dismissive attitude gets a lot of folks on the left and right in a lot of trouble. I think we agree on more than we disagree on Calico, but the fact that I'm a right-wing libertarian Tea Party Paulbot would forbid you from ever acknowledging that.

That's the thing packsaddle. As you start to see that self-determination, the golden rule, and responsibility for one's own actions make sense on a global scale, you realize that those principles should be rigidly applied in all aspects of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You're on a slippery slope packsaddle. Someday you might find that you're one of us Paulbots.
-
packsaddle is quite obviously in the "blame America first" crowd. Why do you hate America so much packsaddle? Don't you realize that any attempt at trying to understand how the enemy psychopaths view the situation is treason? What's the point of having any power if you can't lord it over the rest of the world and use it to excuse hypocrisy and punish the victims of your actions for not being grateful that you graced them with your beatdown in the first place? Somebody beat the drums of war louder to drown out packsaddle the apologist.

Tampa - Newt actually made an astute assertion a number of months ago when he stated that Right-wing social engineering is no better than Left-wing social engineering. His mistake was denouncing that assertion and walking away from it. Crimes against liberty are still crimes against liberty whichever side of the aisle they come from.

Liberals do not necessarily have short memories. They have selective memories, which is necessary to believe what they believe. That's probably not a fair assessment. I think it's more accurate to say they have to have a certain level of arrogance to believe government knows better than the layman how the layman should live his own life.

Ron Paul's second in the most recent national polls. Wonder if he'll convert that into a win soon. Maybe he'll be announced as having won Maine on Saturday?

Make sure the youth involved in the merger are sensitive to Lodge-owned museum pieces and regalia, but that they are prepared to put Lodge loyalty aside for the exciting prospect of something new! How many lodges are merging? If it's more than two, things become much easier as the "constitutional convention" is more of an open ideas forum than sometimes heated negotiations. The best thing for the Adults to do in this process is make sure their youth are excited about the change and are bringing ideas to the table. The worst thing that can happen is letting anybody at the table take a backseat in the proceedings. The ones who don't say anything when you're working out the new processes, rules, and recognitions are going to be the first ones to complain about it. This is less true of the boys, because they adapt pretty easily. We all know the adults who don't adapt too easily, and any complaints they raise that criticize actions and decisions of the youth need to be stifled immediately. The only Advisers that should be involved in counseling in this process are the ones you know will not have their feelings hurt if their ideas don't strike a chord with the youth. Dealt with merging problems as a youth... lock the advisers out of the room if necessary.

If you can prove abuse occurred and that it was inappropriately handled, it sounds like an issue for the authorities and not an online forum. The first time I read the hypothetical it didn't make a lot of sense, but the second time it sounded like it was possible through a camporee or OA event.

"Donor intent" is a buzzword these days. If you're making a donation, you should always reserve the right to earmark it in my opinion. If they won't let you earmark it, it just shows a disregard for donor intent and they shouldn't get your contribution anyway. Of course, earmarked funds free up general donations for other areas, but that's beyond the point of the matter. I don't know that I agree with you though BD... $150k is probably too much to pay for someone whose position often requires a skillset most national corporations would pay $400-600k for. If they're willing to work for that $150k, they either don't possess that skillset that should be required, or they just really love and believe in Scouting. Many of us know SE's in both categories...

Abel, is it our place to give the District and Council ratings based on the agreement made with the Chartering Organization? Certainly it's the Chartered Organization's role to make sure both agreements are being kept, and to suspend their program if they feel they cannot meet their obligation or the local council is not keeping up their end. Unit leadership has a responsibility to inform their Chartered Organization if the Council isn't offering something to them that they feel is necessary to have a better program. That means we have to go up the chain. Another of those JTE goals the professionals are held accountable for is meeting with a key person from each Chartered Organization annually. It would seem to me that would be the time for the Chartered Organization to hold the professionals' feet to the fire. If the issue is dire enough like not offering training or camping opportunity, the Chartered Organization has the right to force the issue or threaten dropping their charter. The structure is set up to be decentralized, much like the US Govt. should be. Letting a centralized power usurp more power due to our own slovenly ways is not acceptable.

Actually completing the form as a Pack is only a couple points anyway, right?

Guess I'm not too disgusted with the choices. Ron Paul is running after all, and that makes voting much more palatable so long as he remains in the race.

"A scout is trust worthy, Scouters are not, especially paid ones." It's strange that since the Finances and Membership have been in the hands of professionals that Membership has plummeted and Councils are more and more financially unstable. I'm not saying I agree with your point that DE's and SE's are untrustworthy. I think that's an insult to the outstanding number of them that are doing it for the boys when their skillset is not 100% conducive to the volunteer-professional dynamic. What I am saying is that the more decentralized the power structure, the more successful the program. This means that while a small number of highly trained professionals are valuable as defibrillators for dying areas, the constant management of local units is not as effective in providing program. Maybe it's a pipe dream to imagine a community where volunteer scouters with rows of knots are the advocates of local scouting and Scouting grows in awe of these wonderful men. However, that world seems more idyllic than the current army of paid scouters in suit and tie micromanaging huge geographic areas.

CalicoPenn - What's the total liability of payouts for SS? Answer: $62 Trillion I highly doubt that SS holds $62 Trillion in bonds, making much of this currently an unfunded liability. If 9% (or really closer to 12% in reality) unemployment is the "new norm", and benefits exceed total accrued contributions and interest as they do now, then how can you be intellectually honest in saying that a system like this is sustainable? The SS admins have said 2037 is when it stops being solvent. That is not an inconvenience. That is catastrophic. If reforms aren't made now, there will be a generation of retirees that is forced to eat dog food. By kicking the can down the road now, you're begging for austerity measures in the future.
