Change the date of the pack meeting!!!

First of all welcome to the forums! No their is nothing preventing you from wearing your own jackets and putting patches on them... They will not be official uniforms but who cares? it's cold outside!

I am enrolled to attend the 2008 SR912 Woodbadge. I am really excited in attending the program, I will be a second generation Woodbadger following in my moms footsteps. The real question is, is it going to be worth my time? I have attended National Jamborees, Philmont, countless summer and winter camps (staff and as a participant) as a youth. As an adult I have gone through my basic trainings, baloo, UOS ect..... I am not really sure what to aspect from Woodbadge......... I know I love to camp and hope if I do not get anything out of WB maybe it might spark some old memorys and maybe next time

I don't condone going through somebody's trash but if it's not in a bag or trash can it's fair game

I know the den leader knot is pretty freely handed out but I am really proud of mine. I think I have worked harder as a den leader than any other position I have held. For Gods sake I have to compete with XBOX, playstation, football, Baseball, and everything else in the world and I have not lost even one boy. I wear my knots so that new leaders know that I know what they are going through. I do think a third row is a little tacky but please don't go for the 4th... LOL

Eamonn........ Once it hits the curb it is fair game!!!! In the state of Louisiana 5 foot from the street is public property. So no it is not stealing.... Personally I use freecycle a lot. I try to leave stuff on the curb in best condition that I can because I would rather someone take it and use it rather ending up in a landfill. My best haul.... A North Face backpack that retails for 500 bucks. All it needed was a little cleaning and some tears sewn up...

Why would somebody steal that? Thats like stealing somebody's family picture album...... It's kind of weird that they stole the vest too......... hmmmmmmmmmm

I just called my local scout shop and they told me to bring in the old totems and they will refund the money. They said it will 5-6 weeks before new non-toxic one''s will come in.

The Cub Scout Immediate Recognition Kit http://www.boyscouttrail.com/i/cubscouts/progress.jpg has been recalled by the BSA because of high levels of lead paint. I just seen it on cnn.... They said the totem was made in china..

sell them on Ebay. List them as spoof patrol patches. people are always looking for original patrol patches..

I agree with scoutldr as long as you have the full complete uniform.

I have a special needs boy in mt den. thank god he is not disruptive but he has problems keeping up with the other boys. I have asked his parent to go over requirements at home with him..... All I ask is Do your Best! but the parent does not take scout serious enough to work with him outside of the meetings. I feel real bad about not letting him earn rank. You really need kids at the same level in a den to make it work.

Little secret real quick...... I posted on craigslist for donations and I was swamped with uniforms.... just post in different cities and ask for donations. it worked for me.

it''s not that big of a deal. In the past our den leaders kept track of the awards and just gave a list to the AC to pick up the awards for the pack meeting. Well, one boy transfered and we didn''t have records of his achievements and it started a whole stink. We are now trying to everything by the book and I find the AC description is kind of open to interpretation. Like I said no big deal, just needed clarification.
