RememberSchiff 3721
Does your summer camp have international scouts on staff? Seems less common these days.
Eagle94-A1 2747
Growing up my camp did. In fact my Cooking MBC was an Aussie. I didn't go back to camp for 6 years, and they no longer had international staff.
RememberSchiff 3721
As a scout, we had a German, well West German then, ASM for Provo. Very low-key, cool guy. I saw this brief article about about a Springbok Scout from South Africa teaching sailing at some Mississippi Valley Council camps. http://www.thehawkeye.com/news/local/south-african-scout-sails-into-area-summer-camps/article_11f51680-6dc9-56dc-a986-9a621afd63ff.html Edited July 21, 2017 by RememberSchiff
Back Pack 431
Na ja, ich hab Sommercamp gestafft. Weil ich eigentlich Amerikaner bin, ich hab für drei Jahren das Lager unseres Gemeinderat geleitet.
RememberSchiff 3721
I forget his name but remember he was surprised by our camp fires and skits. I think he was accustomed to more and better Scout singing at gatherings. @@Back Pack My two years of high school German failed me, so translated online.
Eagle94-A1 2747
I forget his name but remember he was surprised by our camp fires and skits. I think he was accustomed to more and better Scout singing at gatherings. I did the European Camp Staff Program and worked at 2 camps in the UK. The Germans we had in those camps would stay up to 2 and 3AM singing and goofing off. Edited July 22, 2017 by RememberSchiff replaced signing with singing :)
qwazse 4381
Every camp I attended always had one or more international scouts.
nuwriter 6
JN Webster doesn't have one this year. They have in most other years. I'm still in contact with international scouts from Egypt, Poland, and Moldova. We even had an international Scout from Japan in 1968 come back in 2015 and 2016. He roomed with the same guy all three years.
