August 18, 201213 yr I am very excited. I will be attending WB weekend 1 this coming weekend starting Friday, August 24.
August 19, 201213 yr Congratulations, I hope you have a great time. Keep an open mind, and remember that there is often an unseen reason behind a lot of the things, even the ones that might seem frustrating at the time.
August 19, 201213 yr Good luck and have fun. Be prepared to get a lot of information in a short amount of time. Sleep when you can!
August 19, 201213 yr My first weekend is coming up the same weekend. I am really looking forward to it, I have talked to people who have done it and everyone says that it is a great experience.
August 19, 201213 yr Enjoy yourself and don't take anything you get to experience for granted. I've been looking forward to woodbadge for a year only to find out 30 days before weekend one that the entire course wasn't going to make.
August 19, 201213 yr Unkiewill and johnponz, Same course? What state? Start date seems a little odd, but I'm sure it must work for where you are. BDPT00
August 19, 201213 yr gotta laugh There is 9 wood badge courses that start this weekend in the central region alone....
August 20, 201213 yr "There is 9 wood badge courses that start this weekend in the central region alone...." So ... this must be in an attempt to finish the courses before camporees and conclaves. I guess that makes sense. BDPT00
August 20, 201213 yr You have been counseled in what equipment and oersonal gear to bring. But remember to take the REAL essentials with you: * Duct tape. * Extra rope. * A silly hat (pursuent to your PL request) * Modern Scout Manual. * Old Scout Manual or Fieldbook for comparasion. * Tarp (it will be far too big, or too small, or not needed. You predict). * A happy, expectant attitude. * A mug for coffee/etc. Thus being ecologically sound, eliminating the need for throw away styrofoam or paper. * Carabiner to clip cup to belt for ready access. * Our best wishes for a fun, successful WB!
August 27, 201213 yr I got back from my first weekend a few hours ago, it was a great time. They were not kidding when they told us that we would not have much free time. It was a very full three days. The group of people in my patrol are really great and we gelled very quickly. It should be a great experience. Any fellow Antelopes out here?
August 27, 201213 yr Start practicing that Turks Head Knot. My course starts in Sept. Such a challenge! So Pumped!!! Saved those work sick days for a reason Yours In Cheerful Service, Tim
