Boy Scout Shoes

My EagleSon collects vintage BSA items. He recently acquired a pair of BSA oxford shoes in new condition. These were NEVER worn. We cannot find any reference for price or value. He does not want to sell or otherwise get rid of them, he just wants to know what the value is for his records. Thanks for any and all assistance.

Any brand name? Excelsior was one of the larger manufactures who made shoes for the BSA. I have one of their old tokens.

I saw a pair of these go on E-Bay for about $125

The shoes are made by Rand. The heel has a compass for the tread.

The ones I saw had a BSA FC emblem on the heel with a series of MB's embossed all around the edge of the sole.

We have seen those in catalogs but had never seen the Rand shoes before. These are about a boy's size 3 and have never been worn. Thanks for the info.

Gee, my Buster Browns were handed down to another Cub when I outgrew'em. Mom got me another pair ("my dog Tige in the heel!") . How in the world did a Scout shoe survive in new condition? Were these "collector" items to begin with?(This message has been edited by SSScout)

A local shoe store found them in the attic and sold them to my son. I think these guys sold Noah his first shoes!

Did they sell'em to him for the price THEN, or the price NOW?

 

We had an old time hardware store nearby that would price the goods and that was the price until they sold the item. Old lantern chimneys, grass scythe, mower parts for the 1947 Troybilt, if they had it still and you needed it, that was the price.

My son offered him $40 for the shoes because that was all the money my son had available to him. The gentleman was happy to get it. Both were happy so it was a great deal.
