  1. This happened to me. Believe me my Pack families tried to intervene or get the decision changed. The bottom line is the IH has the ability to do it unequivocally and normally the COR is the mouthpiece of said IH. The decision does not, unfortunately, need to go through the committee at all.
  2. Sentinel, my oldest son has Klinefelter's Syndrome. He is a 20 y.o. Eagle Scout and can't do one pullup, and very few pushups. Is he physically fit? Yes, he can run far and fast, plays a lot of ultimate, hikes with the Troop every month and competed in wrestling and baseball for years. He has endurance to spare and a resting HR of about 60. But he has very little strength for his size (6'3") because of his disorder. I can't imagine how he would have reacted had his Scoutmasters demanded a full pullup before advacing. Our Troop allows them to show improvement by going from 0 to 1/2 or 1/2 to fu
  3. Well this is a great surprise! I post frequently and always get an error message! Thanks for updating your site... harder to navigate but it will be nice to be able to give input. I'm primarily a Bear DL and ASM, also a (not super active) UC, and CS RT Commissioner. Joined BSA as a Tiger ADL in 1998 when my now-Eagle/ASM son was a Tiger. Younger son is Second Class and I also have a wonderful, supportive hubby and daughter who are not involved in Scouting. I'm so excited!
  4. We have a pretty diverse crowd, too. Lots of football players, wrestlers (my Eagle son wrestled 11 years), academic stars, and even Average Joes. I don't think ther's much ofa stigma around here. In fact in my own unit I would worry more about the opposite- it seem sthe stereotypical nerds are given a harder way to go.
