QC_ADC 5
Does anyone know if a requirement for the George Meany award is for the Scouter's union to be AFL-CIO affiliated? The form says "union scouter" but is coordinated via local AFL-CIO Labor Councils.

QC_ADC 5
@RememberSchiff Thanks! I'm returning to scouting after a 10 year hiatus. Getting caught up and helping with a new district after re-districting.

Since they sign off, they are the ones that have to be "ok with it". I know that many teacher unions, for example, are not AFL-CIO. Sometimes, though, they have an understanding with AFL-CIO and thus the AFL-CIO may have no issue signing off.
QC_ADC 5
That was kind of my assumption, but I wasn't sure. I guess the best way to find out is to submit the nomination and see what they say.

I reached out before submitting so they knew it was coming and what it was all about. Not all labor councils are familiar with it.
