Popular Post NealOnWheels
Thought I would share a positive story on the world brotherhood of Scouting. Recently a scouter in our district was on vacation in London and suffered a major heart attack. This Scouter has been a volunteer for many years and has been our District Executive for the past few years. I am the Scoutmaster for his two grandsons. One daughter was with him but the other daughter had to make an emergency flight to be with him. The daughters have been fundraising through Go Fund Me for expenses for this ordeal as they do not have enough money for their expenses for the several weeks this Scouter will likely be in the London hospital before he is healthy enough to return home. Today I found out that The Scout Association (UK scouting) will be providing accommodations, meals, and bus transportation at their headquarters at Gilwell for the daughter currently in London. Their Chief Executive is personally making the arraignments. This will greatly help the daughter financially. I am truly impressed with the hospitality of UK Scouting. Cambridgeskip
That's good to hear! Our HQ can sometimes be a bit corporate, it's nice when they are a bit more human
