Gold Winger
" The forum menbers could read scripture for themselves." In the Bible (old and new testaments), The Koran, the Works of Shakespeare, and even the Historical Documents: Star Trek, quotes can be found to support any point of view. Hiromi
Gold Winger (Angel's Wings?) Where in the world are you going with this one? (Unless you are reiterating one of the greatest apologetics arguments for why the Catholic Church takes a dim view of Sola Scriptura and beleives that Sacred Tradition and A teaching magisterium of the church are needed as well for the proper formation of the faithful). Welcome to the fold Gold Winger- you old garlic eater! God Bless Us, Every On Pappy(This message has been edited by Pappy)
Gold Winger
Sorry Pappy, my wings have nothing to do with angels, the reference is to the bestest motorcycle on the road today, the Honda Goldwing.
GernBlansten
Goldwings are the motorcycle of choice for those with hearts that can't take the adrenaline rush of a sport bike.
Gold Winger
Goldwings are the motorcyles of choice for those of us who want to sit up like gentlemen. Besides, I wouldn't want to ride 500 miles on a zoomsplat.
GernBlansten
Ah, but how can you feel the heartbeat of the machine if your own chest isn't pressed against the tank? Besides, 500 miles will take you what, 8 hours? Less than 5 for me, give or take a ticket or two.
packsaddle
Has to be close to a record for going off topic. I'm fairly sure that neither scripture nor Shakespeare addressed motorcycles. But as long as we've digressed, for me 500 miles would take about 5 weeks at roughly 100 miles per week, a nice comfortable pace for backpacking, say, on the AT. But back to two-wheeled long-distance bikes: I have to vote for the golden wings, a combination of smooth comfort and quiet, and the certainty that it's going to start every time. We're willing to face it, Gern, we're old. And you'll be here soon enough - if you don't smear your lip balm....all over the highway.
GernBlansten
Don't label me too young, just in full bloom mid life crisis here. And the weather here in the Rockies means my stallion is parked until April. Getting a bit anxious if you know what I mean. Just saying you don't need your Gold Wings to fly.
