  1. THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS. our troop recently got a new trailer so I'll check for dutch ovens. The only problem with that is that a patrol the same age group as ours had a DISASTER clean up with a dutch oven. Any tips on cleaning a dutch oven besides SMT224's? We have added bananas to breakfast and it went over well with the other boys.
  2. Simple for my troop: as soon as the first adult gets up (starts a chain reaction). This usually happens a little before 7 am......last people get up at 7:20-ish.
  3. From what I've seen it depends on how much effort put into it. If little effort or thought, than it wont get passed. Also the place of the project either has to be completely open during sometime time frame or need the project badly for there to be a immidiate planning and set date of the actual project. A eagle scout project takes time and effort, and without time, you need lots of effort.
  4. What to cook has become a huge problem in our patrol. We started with a ramen diet, and have since moved on. We still have a limited menu of good and easy things to make with few pans (hot dogs, grilled cheese, sausage sandwich, etc.). Are their any good suggestions on more food that fits the requirements?
  5. I'd see how the did it during the confederacy (research!) or do the general same thing but with abovious exceptions (tear and burn it, save the rings, but no pledge of alligence)
  6. Troop: 454.org Lodge: tonkawa99.org Lodge site got voted the best website in our section! It really looks nice!
  7. Before I dive in posting, I want to say hi to yall. Yesterday I had my ordeal (fun!) hence the name. But now as I'm thinking, I'll have to change the name in a number of months. Ooh well, I'm sure I'll have a great time with you guys.
  8. For adults, I think that they should get to chose whether or not to bring their own phone. The SM can discourage use if the adult is using it too much. I think that cell phones are a good tool on campouts in case of a emergency, but that's it. Period. I really don't like to see adults on a phone just chatting for no reason, especially when it's banned for boy to have phones.
  9. Congrads! I just completed my ordeal too and it is really much harder than I expected, because you have to do many things I would have never dreamed of doing.
