The CM said he would rather replace a leader,than lose 2-3 scouts. He never said who the parents were,but this had been going on awhile. (They're feelings about me,I guess) I told him he could have come to me 6 months ago, & we could have figured this out. I know who it is,I believe,but I'm not going to say anything to her, (she is one that believes she can do everything better,& that if something goes wrong,she is the first to complain about it,but not to your face. Thank You all for your advice. Thats what makes this site so cool!! Nutz

We have 12 Tigers. I've personally bought the tiger cub flag, given small gifts(compass,flashlights,etc). for rewards. I made the suggestion last November to split into two dens. Everyone said one was fine.

I've been the Tiger cub leader since last August. Nobody else would volunteer. Last night our Cubmaster came to our meeting & told me that a couple of parents said I wasn't running the program like last year. They were going to pull their kid's out.they want me out as leader. I told the Cubmaster that it's supposed to be parent/scout run anyway. I'm the only one that has taken all the training(more than what I need) for this position. They're done with Tiger Cubs in May,anyway. I feel like I've been stabbed in the back. No one has come up to me,& offered any advice,or off

Eamonn, let your parents do most of the work. Adult partner/Tiger cub. have to be together. Some of our events. Sleepover at Strategic Air Museum Campover (one nighter) Going flying in May.(A Dad has his own plane) Dairy Farm visit Raptor Center for injured birds Make your own pizza at Pizza Hut This is a very worth while program I like to teach these kids young,before their minds get all polluted. Just make it short & fun.My attention span is as short as the kids. Nutz

Our council policy is for the meds to be turned in to the camp medical officer.

Vicki, The camp medic isn't going to meet you, unless your there with the troop. Think of the parents who send there scout off to camp, with meds. And then the medic gets ALL of the meds, at once,at check in. The meds are not supposed to stay at the troop campsite,& are to be dispensed by the medic,hired by the council.

Is this something that we need to put on our med. forms? The camp/Med officer gets this form & says ADD/ADHD, but no meds. Does there need to be added training for this?(Med. Officers) BE INFORMED,BE UNDERSTANDING, & be a GOOD SCOUT

No snow here in Nebraska. We had some snow & -17 for our Klondike in February. That was about it. I miss the snow I'd rather be in Alaska

Actually, I am an ASM. We just had our crossover, & the boys elected a new scout/chaplain This patch would be for the troop chaplain

On ebay, I bought a Chaplain patch. Are these still in use,& what would be the proper location? Thanks

Does your pack have a unit commissioner? Or the old pack? They are like your laison between council & CMs,or SM.

Bob,are you a commissioner? It is hard to go to a meeting where you are the outsider, try to not say a word,then have to go out to your car & write down all the good & bad. I am in both positions.(ASM & UC)but not UC in my own troop. VOLUNTEER to be a UC. walk a mile in another man's shoes, nutz

Well, I talked to him. Asked him if he had any problems with me,at all. He said no. I told him a scout is honest. He still said no. He said he wants to take things slow. I told him he had to at least take his training. He is signed up for wood badge,but hasnt taken SM,or new leader.(Ibelieve that disqualifies him) but I asked him to please delegate & communicate. Nothing more I feel I can do,but thank you to all who replied. Nutz

I live in a small town(1,700) Only 1 troop here. It's only 17 miles to a town that really needs help,but I dont want to seem like I'm abandoning my post.I did receive my copy of "Follow Me,Boys" today,& I really feel alot better about things. Our district chairperson was there last night,with me, when there was no meeting. This is twice now,that he has canceled,& not informed me. He also does alot with baseball in the summer. I'm just wondering if he is going to be canceling meetings all summer,too. This SM doesn't even know to have the pledge of allegiance,much less the middle & the end.

No other ASMs. The new SM has no training for this position. I am the only one in the troop that has all the training.

Here we go. A troop of 30,now down to 4.Old SM ran troop like Adolph. I've taken all my training SM,etc. New SM has none. is signed up for wood badge,without taking any other training. He has canceled 2 meetings,without letting me know. We have MBU this weekend,I feel we should have had a meeting tonight to go over who needs what. We have boys going to MBU in their blue shirts.(Our Crossover is Thurs. MBU is Saturday. There has been no inventory of the scoutbarn. All the tents are still out from last fall.(new SM wont give me a key,to do inventory) How do I get him to delegate?
