Although being Lodge 2 we always have to live in your shadow. LOL PhillyScout, I have checked with Resica Falls and unit of our size will not have to share a campsite.

Looking for a Summer Camp for 2011. Considering Resica Falls. Anyone have any reviews?

I have a battery that I use for weekend and summer camp. For Philmont I have made arrangements for a solar panel that is Military grade, paper thin, can be rolled up and weighs under 2 pounds.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience or suggestions with going on Trek at Philmont with Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

We had our Pack Fall camping trip. Despite it raining Friday into Saturday afternoon the Scouts had fun fishing and just playing in the rain. We took hike when the rain settled down. Saturday night we were invited to campfire of local Boy Scout Troop and another local Pack who happened to be camping the same weekend. It was one of the better campfires. By your responses the consensus is to split the two Dens evenly. As engineers say, it looks good on paper now how do we go about splitting the Den up? Easier said than done. Any suggestions? Eamon, your wisdom is correct. History shows we do lose some scouts the Bear year.

One more issue. We had a Scout sign up who is 7 years old and in the 1st grade that was supposedly a Tiger in another Pack last year. Should he be a Tiger again this year or a Wolf?

How do we handle this? We have a large Wolf Den with 12 Scouts. Now with this years recruiting we have even more Wolf prospects. We have a father willing to be a Den Leader for a second Den but so far we have only signed up two new Scouts with the possibility of two or three more. I think if we have four or five new Scouts this second Den will be fine. My concern is what if we only have two or three Scouts for a second Den. Do we try to split the Den evenly or merge into one big Den with multiple leaders? Hopefully we will recruit enough Wolf Scouts for two Dens but I would li

All meetings, traveling to camp, colors and dinner at summer camp I wear official shirt with all correct patches, bolo either OA or Eagle, official scout pants (or shorts) with official belt brass on brass. Official scout socks (knee high if I am wearing shorts) Work boots if I am camping or wearing shorts. Brown leather shoes for meetings with long pants. During the day at camp replace official shirt with Scout polo, OA polo, Pack T-shirt, Council T-shirt, Camp T-shirt or some other scout related shirt. Hello my fellow Scouters! I wonder if you can help with something. I am having trouble arranging a visit to a Boy Scout-oriented outdoor activity for my Webelos Den. I was wondering what sort of activities would qualify for the AOL. Some background information. Our Pack does not have a Troop. It merged a few years ago with another Troop in town who has their own Pack. Mbscoutmom, yes, have him help with this years roundup. Trlarue, if you completed the requirements you can still receive the award. If you did not complete the roundup requirement do so this year. Then complete the Progress Record for Tiger Cub Den Leader Award form and have it signed by the appropriate parties to receive your award.

For those who use Denners, how are they selected? By election? I was thinking of using elections to select the Denner and Assistant Denner. The Assistant Denner being the Scout with 2nd most votes. After serving their term, 1 or 2 months, the Assistant Denner would become the Denner and a new Assistant Denner would be voted in. The question I have do you continue to have elections to select the next Scouts to serve? Do Scouts who have already served become ineligible until every Scout has had a chance to serve?

My addled old mind cant remember back to my days as youth. What is the rule/policy/tradition when it comes to camping and wearing uniforms? Do you wear the Field (Class A), Activity (Class B) or none at all? This is both for the trip up and during the weekend. Thanks!
