Maybe we arrive on Wednesday and stay until Sunday.

A little early next year. I'm looking at March 28 - April 1st. Arrive on Monday and leave on Friday. So it would definately (did I spell that right?) before the opening of camping on the grounds. Yes, we'd love to have him guide. Do we get to hear a speech from the NE Region Venturing President? In return for one motivating speech, my Mutinous Sea Dogs will be honored to cook a breakfast burrito with extra chorizo and pour the prez an extra cup of our official Ship's coffee, "Foglifter". How can you top that?

Day 2, The Texans and boys from Alabama attempt to flank the Union's left flank, by taking the little rocky hill. The fishermen and lumberjacks of the 20th Maine don't want to give up the little rocky hill.

I'll have to get my Mutinous Sea Dogs working on some Sea Shanties for the campfire. We've talked about bringing a projector to play the movie on the battlefield. Non-microwaveable popcorn, does anyone remember how? We want to do the 10 mile hike. We also want to hire one of the guides to take us on a 2-3 hour tour. I remember seeing a restaurant serving food from the period, hardtack and salt pork anyone?

Probably the 2nd week of April. Going to try to get a spot at the campground on the grounds. You are an hour or so away, care to join us?

I thought the pirhannas on a pork roast was funny. Jason, give it a rest. You've used up 3 weeks of bandwidth in two days. Please don't post again until the 15th of July.

A&E had an original movie a couple years ago, "The Crossing" with Jeff Daniels playing George Washington. My brother in law does the fireworks out at the fairgrounds. He does a great job. Everyone there suffers some hearing loss. Just finished Newt Gingrich's historical fiction, "Gettysburg" and have just started his second in the series, "Grant Comes East". Good stuff. I took the Sea Scouts and my 6 year olds to Civil War days at The Railway Museum last weekend. We toured the camps of these Outdoor Living Historians, viewed the displays, rode trains and trolleys, and watched a recreation of First Bull Run. My little guys (wearing blue kepis) were shocked to see their Union Army drove from the field. "Dad the Johnny Rebs are winning!!!" I thought they were going to cry. It was a super day.

You boys are on Jason like a school of pirhannas on a pork roast. You hate him already. How come?

You're a jeenyus for pointing out his spelling errors.

Pack, Done. I'm sponsoring a 3 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. Sent a box of summer clothes today. We're also trying to send 25-30 book bags stuffed full of supplies to the 1st Graders. I thought you were a professor or something at one of those affluent universities in the ritzy suburbs north of Atlanta. Up there in Newt Gingrich country. Think supplies, Pack, supplies.

"Trail Pounder, Hey we have some common ground after all! And man, what altitude off the end of that freeway!" Now that we're friends, Why don't you send me a couple boxes of school supplies for my kids at Pine Ridge Reservation? Water colors, big lined paper, fat pencils, blunt scissors, glue sticks, preschool and kindergarten games, books....

Have a quarterly physical Roundtable, meeting and greeting. The rest of the time, have a set schedule of training sessions. Everyone logs into the server and at the same time calls in on the phone. You can set up with the phone company a large dial-in conference call. Set your agenda and then questions can be sent via online messaging or from the telephone. On the server you can use powerpoints and video clips. It can be done.

I thought Elwood and Jake took care of the nazis in Skokie!!!

BadenP, I'm still chuckling about your pomposity. The Scouters you insulted (me excluded)with your tirades have forgotten more about Scouting than you'll know and then to find you're a youth pastor. Flamed by the youth pastor. That's just funny. I read your hissy fit to Mrs. Trail Pounder and she was in stitches. We were laughing so hard that we woke up kids, who started laughing at us laughing, and then the weiner dog howled, and we started laughing some more. So, even though I think you're a tick off balance, well, more than a tick, you've brought laughter to our home.

Laurie, NO, I'm not offended. NO, the lengths of your posts are not offensive. I was just commenting that maybe sometimes I think I get my point across in short order. Sometimes, it doesn't. Way too many people get offended and outraged over way too many things these days. I'm just happy to be here. The kids are all happy and healthy, business is booming, I pay more taxes than youth pastors make, We're going sailing and camping next week, got Cards tickets for the 24th....Life is good.

BadenP, I spent 11 years as an enlistedman in the Army. A Regular in the Regular Army. I've been insulted, degraded, manhandled, shot at and missed, and had some wall-to-wall counseling sessions with some of our nation's best NonCommissioned Officers. There's nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, that a failed DE, youth pastor, can bring at me that's going to cause me to lose any sleep. LOL!!! Use your professional contacts and find someone to talk to.

Political Party Affiliation? Don't be a whimp!
LovetoCamp replied to Jason OK's topic in Issues & Politics
I live in the People's Republic of Illinois. My candidates get massacred by the Chicago Daley Machine. But, the Republican Party of Illinois is without a doubt the most inept bunch of corrupt, inept, losers in the history of bad politics. Between George Ryan, Jim Ryan, and now JAck Ryan, the Illinois GOP won't win another state-wide election for a few centuries. W ought to stay as far away from here as he can. I like the idea of moving away. What's the most hard-corps GOP county in the country? -
BadenP??? Dude's spitting out some serious venom. Does blunt mean that I keep it short and to the point and not post up these 500 word mega-posts?

Heck, I don't even have two years in yet and I pass for an old timer that doesn't do much. I just have to say there Mr. Youth Pastor, you have a big chip, no boulder, on your shoulder, that you ought to shake off first. How old are you? SHAKE IT OFF!!! BE REAL!!!!
