Rooster7 11
This Rooster would like to crow because hes proud as a peacock that his third duckling has obtained EagleIn bowling, they call that a turkey (three in a row). :-) Ed, expect to see an invite soon.
Glenn 10
Congrats! And tell your son congratulations also. I'm still hoping for my son to make it!
mk9750 11
CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF YOU!!! Having just recently watched my oldest son accept his Eagle Medal, I now have some idea how you feel. It is a proud moment for your son, you and Mrs. Rooster (somehow, I think she might be offended by that, but I hope you know what I mean!), and your Troop. Rooster is crowing and acting like a peacock about his Eagle and talking about turkeys. And I called his wife Mrs. Rooster when she probably is a swan. The bird theme is making me dizzy! OldGreyEagle 5
Why Mark, are you saying this thread is for the birds? Rooster, as one aviarian to another, welcome your offspring to the Aerie for me. I can see why you are strutting like the Cock of the walk for sure
SR540Beaver 116
Well cock-a-doodle-do!!! Congrats to your son and you. mk9750, I have a feeling that Rooster's wife would rather have you call her Mrs. Rooster as opposed to an "old clucking hen".
dsteele 20
Congrats to all. Rooster's sons will never know how many people had a hand in his earning of the award. But I'm sure all of us who have earned it know it extended far beyond our troop -- the chartered organization provided support, the district committee, the commissioners, and on and on. But the young man earned the award. He should be showered in glory enough to illuminate his parents as well. Fantastic! DS
eagle90 125
From one Eagle (Class of 1964) to another (Class of 2003): CONGRATULATIONS! And the same to dad and mom! Dale
acco40 95
Congratulations Rooster! Tell your son "once and Eagle, always an Eagle." Your son and family deserve to feel proud.
Eamonn 61
I feel a bit like a lame duck. I ought to be able to cash in on this bird theme. If only to egg it on. The Man Of Steele makes a good point. It does take a whole Council/ District to make an Eagle. However, it takes a lot of hard work and "Stick To It" From the Scout. Congrats to him. And your family. Of course now you can Shell out a few bucks on the court of honor
