need game ideas

Recommended Posts

I would like to have some game ideas for my den meetings, I am a Webelos I & II leader. My problem is that I usually only have 2 or 3 boys show for meetings. This limits that games that you can play. Any suggestions for games or group activity would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking at http://www.cubmaster.org/ - a lot of game ideas.

One game we used to play was table top soccer. Using a ping pong ball, the Scouts are arranged on each side of the table resting their chins on the table top. By blowing the ball around they try to get it past another scout around the table. Can't use their hands. If you have a small group - one scout on each side of the (small) table. If you have a larger group you can make teams on each side of a larger table.

Another idea might be to team up with another den in your pack and have a game between the dens.

Also, get into the game yourself along with the other parents.

Have Fun!

Of course if you have a ball & a basket handy they can play B-Ball. Or Soccer, catch, practice hitting, etc. How about frisbee? Fitness games like who can do the most situps, pushups, jumping jacks, etc. Thumb wars!

Thanks for all the websites. I went and printed up some that were games for strength. I was hoping that all the boys would participate and behave. They had to turn the games into 'fighting' exercises and I had one that refused to even participate (but that is a subject for another thread). I am sure that I will use these sights often.

I like the "Big Book of Games" on macscouter.com and boyscouttrail.com. I use it in both the Cub Scout and Boy Scout program. For Cubs, I stay away from anything that can break out in open warfare - ball games are popular, as is our annual Oreo Stacking Contest. Good luck!
