  1. Thanks for the input. I will pass on the info.
  2. Looking for protocol for a scout who will have his eagle board of review and court of honor after his 18th birthday. Should he wear: Life scout uniform Assistant scoutmaster uniform Suit and tie Thanks.
  3. Bemidji Woolen Mills also offers a jacket in green. http://www.bemidjiwoolenmills.com/details/bm07_101
  4. While at summer camp I saw a troop from Rhode Island that had exactly what you mention. They were tan strips with red embroidery. They were much smaller than the GI name tags and looked very sharp. I hope someone can name a source.(This message has been edited by cimarron8889)
  5. Are you looking for something like this: http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___82013 I have had very good luck with Campmor. Mark
  6. I think the concern of the original poster was in auction listings like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/Boy-Eagle-Scout-Complete-2010-Rank-Patch-Badge-Set-BSA_W0QQitemZ200460510184QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2eac60a3e8 We are not talking about old patches. There are many with the new "2010 restricted rank" patches. The concern is how are these getting into general circulation.
  7. I love the neckerchiefs. Over the collar is the way to go.
  8. I do not have a Centennial Shirt but I do remember a post on this subject. It mentioned that the torso length problem was corrected shortly after introduction. I would presume that current manufacture is longer in the torso than the initial quantities available for the roll out.
  9. Thanks for the replies. Basically, the boys have fund raised for the trip but now will be Boy Scouts on the date that we were able to reserve for the trip. I should have used former Webelos in my last sentence of my question. I totally agree with: "IMO if you let Webelos cross-over to "nothing" just to cross at the Blue and Gold, then it's a dis-service to the Webelos that joined a Scout Troop at the Blue and Gold." But that does not apply to my question.
  10. Looking to see how other Packs and Troops handle this. We historically have crossed the Webelos over to the Troop at the Blue and Gold Banquet in February or March. This years Pack overnight trip will be late April 2010. What issues might we face if the just crossed over Scouts attend? Mark
  11. I love the traditional neckerchief. A Scout with a neckerchief is recognized everywhere. We wear them above the collar the way they were meant to be worn. http://www.normanrockwellvt.com/BoyScouts/b040.gif http://www.scouters.us/images/r1945.jpg Mark(This message has been edited by cimarron8889)
  12. I have seen that the Boy Scout Fieldbook has been discounted to $10. Does anyone know if: A centennial version is about to come out? It was discounted to put it in line price wise with the BSA Handbook? Mark
  13. The whole number fiasco was a terrible roll-out from National. Eagle92 and I commented at length on this in the spring when for a short period of time there were pictures of Cub Leaders with tan and red numbers. All those registered to a Cub Pack should wear red numerals regardless of uniform color and all those registered to a Scout Troop should wear tan numerals with both the Centennial and ODL uniform. I believe as leaders we should set the correct example as the situation will invariably arise that Little Joey has the incorrect color numeral because his Mom bought what she s
  14. Here is a auction link with pictures of the rifle under discussion. http://www.auctionarms.com/Closed/displayitem.cfm?ItemNum=8090728.0 NOTE this is not summer9597's rifle(This message has been edited by cimarron8889)
  15. We have been experiencing problems with the boys losing temporary insignia which was hanging off the right hand pocket on the Centennial Uniform. The Centennial Uniform has one button on the back of the velcro pocket flap. Looped patches have come off during games and other activities. This was not a problem with the previous shirts as the patch hanger was "sandwiched" between the pocket and the flap. Has anyone else experienced this or developed any solutions? I was thinking of some type of stiff washer perhaps.
