  1. Hmm...this one's new to me. But, having been out of the program since '97, a LOT is new to me. I know when I was in Webelos, my den went on one or two campouts with the troop, but not "with" the troop. We maintained our own campsite, ate our own meals and did not interact with the troop except to learn some basic camp craft. And even then we sat together as a den and some of the troop's PLs came over to guide us under the supervision of the den leader. When the old GS council to which my wife and daughters belonged started talking merger, the one thing that was certain was that anything having to do w/ old council offices & local GS camps being sold and/or built was on hold until the ink was dry on the paperwork. After that, we were told, they would move forward. The merger is done and as of right now, all camps involved are still open and former offices are now regional offices. 3. Hi there all! I'm a new Cub Scouter/Tiger Cub Dad from the Great Sauk Trail. I'm so new, I just turned the paperwork in yesterday(5/30)!! And with that paperwork was my son's youth app. for Tiger Cubs. With any luck, I'll be a Tiger Den Leader come the Fall. This will make mine a Scouting family. Both of my daughters are active Girl Scouts and my wife is a Co-Leader for both of their troops. And while I say I'm new, I'm also old. I'm a 14 veteran of the BSA from Texas' Alamo Area Council. I came up thru the ranks from Cubs, to Boy Scouts, to Sea Explorers, to being a Scout leader.
