  1. I took the training this spring. Here is how my council advertised the course. "Details: For Pack Activities and Day Camp Range Instructors Training for volunteers who wish to be certified in running a BB or Archery range. This training is especially important for those packs that want to be able to run their own shooting sports activities and staff running a range at a district day camp. This certification lasts for two years." It was explained to us that we do it all from set up to tear down. If we run the range for a Pack it has to be at one of our council's camps.
  2. It doesnt matter what the feelings are, fact is if parents want to be there BSA policy says they can. Individual Lodges or groups cannot decide on their own that the rules dont apply.
  3. I think this a non-issue. In the GTSS it clearly states "No secret organizations. The Boy Scouts of America does not recognize any secret organizations as part of its program. All aspects of the Scouting program are open to observation by parents and leaders." end of story. We do not have the right to ban parents from any part of the program, but I do understand where you are comming from. Right or wrong it is the rule.
