  1. I haven't been to NY for Boy Scout purposes. However, for backpacking options I always check the federal and state resources. Checking the forest service's web site, I see that the Appalacian Trail and the North Country National Scenic trail both go through NY state. These could be good options. See http://www.fs.fed.us and http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/programs/trails/natltrails.pdf Mike(This message has been edited by Ever Onward)
  2. Instead of names, maybe a troop could put some kind of insignia (Eagle symobol?) on the trailer to indicate the number of Eagle Scouts from the troop. Kind of like symbols on the side of a football helmet or on the side of an aircraft.
  3. Arrow of Light Eagle w/ 3 silver palms OA Brotherhood I held pretty much every junior leader position up to JASM. I'm just now getting involved again after 13 years away. I'm just starting as an Assistant Scoutmaster. I think it's great that scouts are/will be looking at Venturing as the next step. Now that I'm involved again, I realize that I didn't *really* need to stop once I turned 18. In my area in 1991, there was only one Explorer post I knew of. Their focus was on police duties. That was not something I was interested in so I overlooked it and I didn't know you
  4. As a youth, inducted in Wenasa Quenhotan #23 ordeal in 1985 and brotherhood in 1986. Now Some ten yrs. after college, I'm just getting involved again in Scouting. I'm now in MN and have joined the Tonkawampus lodge #16. Unlike many others, I'm involved again not because I have boys now joining scouts, but because I have girls (now ages 1 and 3) and it's good to get out a little bit! My wife has been very supportive. Has everyone also seen/joined arrow-L mailing list? See http://home.ease.lsoft.com/archives/arrow-l.html. Mike ASM Troop 369
