OldGreyEagle 5 Posted November 21, 2003 Share Posted November 21, 2003 From time to time this section of the Forum and in others gets quesitons about what does your crew do, well, what if this stands as a continuing thread, Crews post your activities here and afterwards give us a review. Then when people look through for ideas, they can be in one thread. This week end the Crew is going to Gettysburg, many of us have been there before but never have done the historic downtown hike. buffalo2 14 Posted November 21, 2003 Share Posted November 21, 2003 Our Crew went rappelling last weekend; had a great time. Stayed in a cabin to make it easy on our less than experienced campers. We went out for a single overnight and got back Saturday evening to allow the kids some time for homework etc. A great trip! Link to post Share on other sites

Did the in town historic hike, had a good lunch in town and did the visitor center. Wonderful dinner back at camp, and made Black Forrect Birthday Concoction in a DO, Chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling Gettyburg is always a great place. Now, I know not everyone can get to Gettysburg in 2 hours, but what made this trip special is we had Outdoor Thinker's brother with us, Civilwar Thinker, he knew all about just about everything. He had a lot to tell us and we let him. He is a 14 year old Civil War nut. Inentory your crew, see if you have a local expert on a nearby attraction. matuawarrior 10 Posted November 23, 2003 Share Posted November 23, 2003 Our Crew did a Service Project for the center where we meet. We maintained the lawn and picked up trash along the sidewalks. We have a backpacking trip scheduled to a nearby beach and natural springs in a cave this Thanksgiving weekend. Matua Link to post Share on other sites
OutdoorThinker 10 Posted November 24, 2003 Share Posted November 24, 2003 I concure with OGE. This weekend in Gettysburg was really great (well, except for those birds!! AHH!!!). Much to OGE's liking we even sang and did recitations around the campfire. Much to our liking we suggested OGE and the other advisors wear crowns at Burger King during brunch this morning --- totally fun, OGE even drove home with his on, while we sang to the oldies station.
