Are professionals normally registered in the Speaker's Bank database? Professionals give a lot of talks and presentations about the program so it seems only natural but as a new DE, my council hasn't mentioned it to me. Any thoughts?

I'd talk to your Field Director about it. I'm one of three or four registered in my council and I get called about once every six months to give a speech to a service club or church. The SE may or may not want you on the Bank list until after you're officially commissioned.

While I am not a professional, but a volunteer, and I set up all my own speeches.

I have been called by some local groups who heard I did a speech elsewhere. Never been asked by Council to do one -- and I have my speaker's bank knot.

Yes, it is earned after you have given and recorded 20 speeches in the Speaker's Bank database. At 10 you receive a special "Speaker" position patch. These both come from National.

I think I know 4-5 folks who have this knot.
