Cub Scouts 75th Anniversary Award

Recommended Posts

I came across this:

75 Years and Still Having Fun

2005 will mark the 75th anniversary of Cub Scouting. It's never too soon to start making plans to celebrate. The official celebration begins at the start of the program year in September 2004 and continues through December 2005.

In the coming months, be on the lookout for 75th anniversary information that may include:

* Special 75th anniversary awards for individual Tigers, Cubs, Webelos, leaders, packs, and families.

* New Cub Scouting Outdoor Program Award.

* New History of Cub Scouting book.

* 75th anniversary commemorative print by Joseph Csatari.

* Recognition and supply items.

Does anyone have information or suggestions on the following requirements for the 75th anniversary award for Cub Scout Leader?

Learn about a game that boys played in 1930. Teach the game to Cub Scouts at a den meeting, pack meeting, camp, or district activity, or to a group of leaders at a training event or roundtable.

Using materials that would have been available in 1930, teach a craft to Cub Scouts at a den meeting, pack meeting, camp, or district activity, or to a group of leaders at a training event or roundtable.

Learn a song that was popular in 1930. Teach the song to Cub Scouts at a den meeting, pack meeting, camp, or district activity, or to a group of leaders at a training event or roundtable.

Thanks!

Wouldn't it be fun to have an 85 year old great-grandfather of one of the scouts to share about the games, songs, crafts he did as a boy? Even better, if he was in scouts!

Or, visit a local senior citizens' center to see if a resident fits the description and is interested.
