eghiglie
The new LNT trainer patch for the scouts is very nice looking. It is much nicer than the little strip I earned when I took the class
emb021
Haven't seen such a patch. Was it issue by the BSA or LNT? AFAIK, the LNT strip you mention was issued by LNT.
sherminator505
Is this a patch awarded for completing the training, or is it a PoR patch?
eghiglie
the patch has the cat # 18185 on the back, but so far its not on scoutstuff This is a POR patch, Leave No Trace Trainer is in Green letters surrounding a center graphic of 3 pine type trees with purple mountains, birds and fish jumping from a stream along with a white fleur d lise
nrp1488
Sounds like the center of the "Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics" patch with different wording around the outside ring.
sherminator505
Makes sense to me. Why reinvent the wheel? Personally, I would've preferred a picture of a bootprint, but I am a bit of a traditionalist.
struax
So what are the requirements..... if you have already taken the LNT Trainer course is that all you need..... Scott
eghiglie
For me that is still a mystery. The LNT Trainer course I've taken was 2 days long. None of the kids in the Troop I'm with have little interest in a course that long.
NC Scouter
Has anyone seen or heard anything official about how the new LNT Trainer POR is to be implemented by troops? Our DE and council training chair have no information and I could not find anything at the BSA web site. If LNT.org is to be a guide, the troop LNT Trainer would take a two day class from an LNT master educator. I know BSA looks outside for CPR certification but it would be unusual for BSA to outsource training for a POR. (And are LNT master educators to be YP trained?)
