fgoodwin 23 Posted March 26, 2007 Share Posted March 26, 2007 According to an article in the Oct 2001 Scouting Magazine: http://www.scoutingmagazine.org/issues/0110/a-denc.html a Scout may wear the cord for the Den Chief Service Award, even after serving as a den chief. My son was given this award by the Cub Scout pack and den he served for the last year; now that he is moving on be a chaplain aide, I wanted to make sure he was wearing the cord properly. Does anyone have anything more official than this? I checked the Insignia Guide, but it is silent regarding when to wear the cord. Link to post Share on other sites
emb021 16 Posted March 26, 2007 Share Posted March 26, 2007 As far as I know, once a boy has earned the Den Chief Service Award, he may wear the cord until he turns 18. This should be clearly stated in the Den Chief Service Award info in the Den Chief handbook. I thought it would be clear in the Insignia Guide. Guess I'll take a look in it tonight. ScoutNut 147 Posted March 26, 2007 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Your son should check his Den Chief Handbook. He is entitled to wear the award even after he has stopped being a Den Chief. If he is still currently a Den Chief he may wear both his Den Chief Cord & his DC Service Award Cord. Link to post Share on other sites
