  1. Do you think it would be reasonable to use it toward Scout registration at recharter time?
  2. My Troop paid zero toward WB for me (SM) but the CO paid $100 toward the tuition. I was shocked!!
  3. What do you do with the Troop account at year end with a surplus of cash from fundraising? (2500.00+ with 18 Scouts)
  4. I also forgot to mention I (SM) do not get to sit and observe the EBOR.
  5. Yes, I write a Scoutmaster Recomendation and I still get interviewed by the District Advancement Committee........
  6. I, the SM also get interviewed by the EBOR and why should I have an ASM of my Troop be able to observe my interview? Or the UC?
  7. I'm a SM that needs clarification with this question: Scout: Mr. Jones will be my represenative that will view my Board of Review. (Mr. Jones is an Assistant Scoutmaster in his Troop). "Unit leaders, assistant unit leaders, relatives or guardians may not serve as members of a Scout's Board of Review." Also, does this include Unit Commissioner? Is this up to the District Advancement Chair who can observe?
  8. We plan a APC in August with the SPL, ASPL and the PL's to plan the year calendar with monthly camping and 1 or more long weekend trip and other weekend activities traveling, along with council activities. The SPL did a presentation to the TC and they accepted it. We did some major fundraising but did not spend a third of it. A lot of money was left over and the TC did their own budget draft without any of my (SM) input. We never allocated any funds to any 'scout accounts' and "their" scouts did not participate in our "high adventure" so the TC put a large amount in a "high adventure" accoun
  9. Program will make or break the experience. The OOC camp we went to had a very good staff, many returning staff from preveious years that knew the camp and were very good MBC. Camp Director and Program Director were very accomidating and wanted to know about the problems so they could act on them ASAP. One of our Scouts want to go back next year to be a CIT so he can work on staff in 2009. Feedback from parents have been positive. I myself would have loved to stay another week!!!!
  10. Who is suppose to make up the proposed budget for the next scouting year: the SM and the treasurer or the CC and the treasurer? Who has the say in allocating the funds?
  11. Out Troop just came back from an OOC Resident camp and had a blast!! I"ve been involved woth the Troop for 6 years and this was the first time we have been OOC. Scouts and leaders had a very positive experience. Lord Baden Powell said "Go Camping", he didn't say you had to go to your council camp.
  12. Scout's family is intact. Father is CM in the home pack and is on TC in home troop. Uncle or cousin or close friend of father is in other troop. Other troop is very active, adult run and has a history of high adventure. Home troop is mostly boy led, may not be as desirable as other troop. Original cub scout den members friends are in home troop. New scouts think it is unfair because they don't have the opportunity like him. What do you say to the SM?
  13. Can a Scout be registered in a Troop in his hometown and go to a Troop in the next town and work on rank advancement? Also this Scout will go to a District Camporee with his hometown Troop and stay with the other troop. An Adult Leader in the other Troop is related to the Scout. Any advise?
  14. I think your posts have answered my questions. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
  15. I meant to say "LIABILITY" on the SM to the CO?
