  1. As a district marketing chair I like to make Relese forms available - or make sure that each new scout ( and family members) are signed off if we want to use their picture on the web or in print etc. YIS spinnaker

  3. My dear husband is a scoutmaster - he smokes on those troop campouts that I'm not attending. The big deal is that he's not a smoker - (neither am I). He sits near the campfire after all the boys are in their tents and lights up a cigar. His excuse is that it keeps the mosquitoes away. But I think he really enjoys this forbidden pleasure. spinnaker
  4. MMM, why am I Scouter? Some of my best memories were camping with girl scouts. As the mother of three sons and a young daugter - I wanted them to have what I had and since girl scouts was not an option, I went with them to cub scouts. But service, thats what has become important to me. I have fun on the troop level, get frustrated at committee meetings and get challened at district and council meetings. I wear "a uniform because i can make a small diffence in my community. And hopefull my sons will see that the scout law and promise really is more than words. Oh- I have to stay on topic ? M
  5. Greetings- I am working on getting a new web site for our district. I'm trying to get Web Hosting donated but I'm not sure how much server space we'll need. Neither does the web master. The pages havent' been designed yet but I want the site to be a useful communication tool. I want to have space for all district committees to use. Training anouncements, advancement...unit commish phone numbers, district contacts, calender, photos from unit and district events, etc. Any ideas--how much space are you using ?

  7. You are so right. We're having mostly a great time. We do scouting as a family. ( "my duaghter and I when we camp are the "mother goose patrol" the scouts gave us a patrol yell.. "AFLAC !" I have gotten as much training as i can (District Committee training is on Saturday) but not yet woodbadge - We work hard to try to do the right thing...How to connduct a BOR, how can troop raise $$ for a trailer. As a scouter wife of a SM, I am often his advisor... our troop was disfunctional when he becam SM. All adult lead, not Boy lead, We are working on changing that . We have a PLC but they need
  8. Hello everyone - I am new to posting, here. I am mother of 3 boy scouts and a brownie girl scout. Years ago with when oldest was 1st year Weblos, I started spontaneously helping out when adults were in short supply (That was most of the time.) I kept the boys busy teaching songs and skills I learned as a Girl Scout. I soon became Weblos Leader, Next year, because no one else would, CubMaster. That was difficult..I had little training and no support from district, parents ect. (Wish I knew then what I know now) Currently, I am advancement chair for our troop committee, Husband is
