The problem is that the current policy and the resolution are bad. The current policy just sucks and anyone found/reported to be a homosexual can be kicked out of the program. The resolution sends a horrible message to our youth that they are good enough to achieve the highest rank in scouting but because they are homosexual they are not good enough to then serve our youth once they age out. Disgusting.

That don't make no sense. He's a whole enough person to Eagle but not to volunteer? This change, if approved, will call the bluff (or non-bluff) of the Chartered Orgs who threatened to pull if any out gays were allowed in. It will also continue to piss off adults and corporations who see BSA as still discriminating. So once again, BSA has sort of done nothing, if approved.

So far my 2 kickback errors were: WARNING: Local tours require at least ONE ADULT who has completed the Youth Protection Training. WARNING: Effective for tours on 1/1/2009 at least one adult must have completed Planning and Preparing for Hazardous Weather Training. However, the permit did have hazardous weather on it. Still waiting on council to approve or kick back again.

Online in My Scouting. I know it has gotten to at least the point where the council can deny it, cause they've done that twice. Define not working for you. I did have to go to a Windows machine, it had issue with Firefox on Linux.

Why is the new hazardous weather course referred to 3 different names depending where you look? E-Learning = Weather Hazards Tour Permit Training section = Hazardous Weather Tour Permit autoresponder = Planning and Preparing for Hazardous Weather Training Why can't the Tour Permit and E-Learning be linked. Seems like a BSA ID should just about do everything needed here. Ask for the BSA ID of an adult on this tour permit. Then link to their online training. The only one I needed for a permit that you can't do online is BALOO. Which brings up the next part of this rant.. when is BS

We and a troop are chartered by a United Methodist church. I'm a member of the church. For the past ~20 years, our COR has been the church secretary. We had the same secretary for 19 years and when she was training her replacement, she told her all she had to do was sign the adult applications. Now the new secretary is leaving and I'd like to be able to voice an opinion on what I would like from the new COR. Buffalo Skipper, I agree with the need to build relationships between the scouts and the church. That is one of the reasons I am our CC. My wife (our Children and Family Chair at the church) and I have discussed this at length. Scouts should be viewed as one of the ministries of the church. Our church also sponsors a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. One of our MOPS rules is that their Chair must be a member of the church. Its a ministry of the church and it should operate itself with the rules and guidance of our church. Same thing should apply to our scout groups (I can only sp

We are chartered by the church, we do not have a Methodist Men's group (thats a different discussion). We the pack take care of our own finances. We pay for our charter. We even pay the church for childcare during our pack meetings. I (as Pack Committee Chair and member of the church) would welcome them to audit our books.
