  6. Any one have a idea on where the patch for this award goes on the Cub Scout uniform? I was told that it is a temporary patch on the uniform. If you can only earn this award once while in Cub Scouts, why not make it a permament patch for the uniform? Any help would be great. Thanks!
  7. Does anyone our there know what to do with a group of boys who want to shop around for the "right" Boy Scout Troop? The Boy Scout Troop in our home town is upset that our Cub Scout boys want to this. Some people want the boys to pick the best Troop that has the most to offer. The Boy Scout Troop is very upset that the boys want to look around. I don't know what to say to my Webelos Den Leaders? How should I deal with this issue? HELP.....
  8. Thanks everyone for the advice. The one thing that I didn't say was that we have a group of committee members who feel the need to take a formal "vote". We are a new pack and are still figuring out how we want to work things. What I have had happen so far is that if the committee member can't be there, they write a note or tell someone else how they feel about a subject they know we will be talking about. I will look up the information in the Pack Committee Training. Thanks.
  9. My committee wants to come up with a written policy that will explain how and why we run our meetings the way we do. Does BSA a a guideline for this or does someone have a example? Some of our committee members think that we need a written policy so they know what they are getting themselves into before signing up. Example: If a committee member can't be at a meeting then we will still vote on upcoming activites so things aren't delayed. That person can't vote if they aren't at the meeting. Any help would be great. Thanks
  10. I am looking for some ideas on how to help a Wolf den leader with dealing with 7 very active/disrespectful boys. We have tried the candle burning down for a pizza/trip idea but it didn't work. The boys spend their time not listening, showing off, and being very disruptive all way around. My den leader is crying after every meeting. She seems to not beable to get control of these boys. They also talk back to her and show her no respect. Most of the parents do join the den meetings but don't always help her keep them under control or feel helpless themselves. HELP!
  11. We are trying to have different games at out December pack meeting and we are having a hard time coming up with a Christmas game. Any ideas??
  12. Thanks. That clears everything up.
  13. My den leaders are having some confusion about how electives work for wolves in their dens. In their book the dirctions aren't very clear. It says "Fill in 10 arrowheads to get a Gold Arrow point. Fill in 10 more arrowheads for each addition Silver Arrow heads." How does this work? Do they need to complete a elective section all the way or can they do some from each elective to get the gold and silver? How many can they earn in all? Signed confused????
  14. Thanks for the information:)
  15. I keep hearing about something called "Ethics in Action". What does this mean?
  16. Can someone please explain what the purpose of the Cub Scout Immediate Recognition Kits are? What are the red and yellow beads for?

  20. Thanks for all the ideas. My Tiger Cubs who will be Wolfs by the time we go on our camping trip will be wearing their new uniforms for the first time. Maybe it would be a better idea to have them wear their old Tiger Cub t-shirts?? Can they do that?
  21. I don't believe in discrimination to anyone. That is what makes this country of our so great. What I'm saying is let God judge who is bad or good. We are here to make a difference. Does society discriminate, yes but its not right. That is why we have discrimination laws to protect thoses who this happens too.
  22. This subject is very close to my pack's heart. We live in the only state that sees nothing wrong with being gay. Our council has chossen a "don't ask / don't tell" forum. Here in Vermont we are in a different situation then other states. Many of our funding sources will not give to the Boy Scouts. We are still able to get some of the money we need. Our council was tired of fighting with the coummunites. This whole state loves to fight and all it did was cause our boys to get no help. We try to focus on the good in everyone and not judge them. We aren't going to go around and ask if everyone is
  23. I'm apart of a new Cub Scout Pack and we are going on our first camping trip. It's only going to be 24-hours because we have Tiger Cubs. I don't want parents mad because their child got their new uniforms a mess. I say "the more messy they get the better". Should we have the leaders and boys wear their uniforms?
  24. We have a problem with parents who don't help out with controling their Cub Scout at pack meetings. We also have Tiger Cub Adult Partners who want to stand in the back of the room and socialize. We have tried to have the boys in assigned seating with their adult partner sitting next to them to keep thing from going crazy and thats not working either. HELP!!!!!(This message has been edited by pack330)
