I receivced an email asking to renew my scoutrack. I would like to but while i was looking thru it I do not see the updated belt loop and pins listed. Has anyone signed up for the program since the added loops and pins. thanks for your answers. Melissa
  3. I was the CM for 3 years. I became the CM to save the pack from folding. It was the best decision I ever made I found something my son and I could really enjoy together.
  4. we have made taco in a bag. you purchase the small doritos bags. a couple of families buy ground beef and then others can be assigned onions, sour cream, cheese, lettuce. tomatos ect. the meat can even be prepared ahead of time and just warm it up or just bring some skillets and prepare it. i just crush the bags up after opening so the chips are small then top it with what you like. clean up is so easier since the bag is your dish and you just throw it away.
  5. Thank you for all of your responses. My son does not want to give up on Scouting and would like to go to the meetings. i will look around and see if there is a differnet meeting we can join. I wanted to stay with our troop since i am still connected to the Pack. I was just concerned that he really would not be able to attend any campouts until he has his bar mitzah but I guess we will cross that bridge when it comes. thanks.
  6. My son just crossover a few weeks ago and we planned on joining the troop of our co. My problem is that my son is also in Hebrew school and now goes twice a week and has turtoing twice aweek. I do not want to over extend my son but we both do not want to give up scouting. I guess my question is: is there lone scouting in BS like in CS? Thanks for any help.
  7. Our Pack just had ours . Very happy and very sad. My son crossed over and I stepped down as CM and over to CC. We had a potluck and gave out any awards earned over the past month and then only rank awards that were earned. Not everyone ranked and that was ok. When it got to loud I would just stop talking and the other people/ guest would hush the talkers. We had games also.
  8. hi. In out pack we seem to nickle and dime everyone and I hate it. Put it is the only way we can exsist and contuine having activies. As the cubmaster it is hard to say ok you need to pay for this...but if you fundraise then you would not have to. Some people just do not have the people to buy the products we sell. We have a 50-50 split that partipate in the fundraiser but then the other half expects the others to carry them. this is why we ask each person to pay dues which is explained what that covers and then pay for awards and $5 entry fee to pinewood debies(which covers trophys and ribbo

Thank you for everyones input. Since my post the scout has went on a boyscout outing and will be going on a Webelos hike this weekend. He turned 10 in June so he has been a Webelos for 6 months. I am always telling the families that cub scouts is a family program so if his mom did lead him to all of these badgesI have to look at myself since I also help my son along his path.(he is not ready to crossoveer) Once again thanks.

Help!. Our B&G is in a copy of weeks and we are crossing over a scout who is ready for scouts. He is only a W1 but way to advance and the leaders think he would thrive in BS and CS is holding him back. The promblem is tjis scouts mother is pushing for the arrow of light. As a CM along with the dl and adl we do not think this scout is worthy. He was awarded the acitivy badges he needs and worked and visited a troop but could not be bothered in going on a troop outing or a webelos hike when planned. Once I told her this she went on an outing with the troop and said she would make some Webe
  12. Hi. I am wondering if you can share what your pack's ACM duties are or if you are one what your duties are? I am the CM and since our Tiger leader quit I had to step up and become leader since no one else would and the tigers have not had a steady den meetings since joining late sept. Our ACM has not really stepped up to help but now I really need her to. Thanks for any help you can give me. Melissa Cub Master Pack 365 Florida
  13. The pack my son is in has $80 dues. It is encouraged to split the payment in two. first payment Sept. second in Jan. It pays for recharter, boys life, end of year party, pack supplies, pack meeting supplies, adwards, pack tshirt. It is so high since we have not had great effort in fundrasier. since my son has been in scouts the last 3 years 3 scouts ever help support fundraiser. this year we have dues and we also had more of a fundraiser effort. I am thinking most parents now realize that 3 scouts can not carry a pack of 40.
  14. In our coucil we do not have to submit a tour permit when we are attening district, council or within council events. We just fill out a copy and keep it with us. This will give you time to fill in the carpoolers info. When we go out of coucil that is when we fill one out. melissa
