We are low on new boys entering our troop. I need a lot of recruiting ideas to bring to our troops' committee meeting.

As for myself.........I made the mistake of getting married too soon! Wife got prego.....love my little girl but man should have waited..plus never had a dad or father in my life so.....untill I asked Christ in my life. So now almost 30 I feel like I am 17 again with no direction. I was going to do Classical Performance but that didn't work out.

If you were a Boy Scout or not....What did you want to be when you grew up VS. what you became.

Is it OK for the adults to get caught with generic Kool Aid?

I changed my mind......I think I rather have a "Communicator". That way I could have Scotty beam me what I needed.

The Boy Scouts of America prohibits the use of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances at encampments or activities on property owned and/or operated by the Boy Scouts of America, or at any activity involving participation of youth members. Looky here......found it.......what about cooking wine? Can you cook with it? hahaha Just kidding.

Just curious what the official rules say concerning the adults having Kool Aid with their steak on the camp out. No....I have never done it....seen it(This message has been edited by Jason OK)

Another Philmont experience. Aztec mine. If anyone have experienced the Aztec mine at Philmont you are aware there is a scare at the end. Apparently one of our fellow scouts got so scared he made a mess in his pants. The poor guy was also the biggest guy in our group.

Boleta, Tell us one of your memories. Are you always so serious?

This problem can be solved quicker than you think. Once you have inserted your boot take your time taking it out. It will leave an impression for them to ponder about.

Another Funny One. Philmont PILOT BOMBARBDIERS. We had this guy on our crew that would sit in the bathroom stalls (mostly pilot bombardiers in the back country) either at or on the way to Philmont. Come to find out he was writing every joke or nasty thing he could find in his notebook. Every once and a while, I wonder if he ever published that notebook. I know he put a lot of smelly hours in it.

Here's a funny one. We were camping and we had the luxury of having a latrine close by. That hot afternoon one of the adults had to go take a poop. So he went to the latrine. Moments later he came running out, screaming with his pants around his ankles holding his man hood. Come to find out a wasp had started a nest under the toilet seat. He got stung right on the end of his man hood. After a lot of ice and loss of proud he recovered but our council never let it down. Later that year we had a council event. Someone rented a bee out fit and chased him around. Poor guy......

My favorite memory had to be going to Philmont and experiencing this lightning storm come rolling over the desert plain. WOW!

Bob58 It's a joke........would you like me to tell you the answer? It has to do with brownies. But I rather not. Just something I posted at the time to lighten the mood after reading my reverence post.

Sorry I feel pretty silly posting that. It felt good to get it out though. I believe I have a lot to offer but sometimes I get pretty hard on myself. Felt like I let him down.
