briantshore 14
I joined cubscouts late in my boyhood, quit when the Den Leader canciled the first camp out. Joined Boy Scouts, and loved it. Made Eagle Scout, Chapter Chief for OA, Philmont, and later Assistant Scoutmaster till I joined the Army. Now I have a son that was a tiger last year and now we are in the wolf den. Something I learned as I went through the ranks, is to listen to those that have walked the trail before you, and you may now fall into as many of the traps that they have already stumbled across. I am always looking to learn a new idea. Brian

SemperParatus 1
Welcome to the forum. I know you will really enjoy looking at scouting through your son's eyes. Some things have changed, but the important stuff never changes.
EagleInKY 14
Great point about learning from those who have walked the trail before you. There are some real trailblazers here! But be careful, some cut across the switchbacks.
BSAChaplain 10
Welcome to the forum. Keeping walking the trail and listening, but remember there are those behind you adn alongside you. You already come with great experience. So don't be hesitant to share it.
anarchist 10
TSK TSK EagleInKy, LNT tells us never to cut across switchbacks... briantshore, welcome to the madness...pour a cup of joe and hang on for the ride...and repeat after me..."one hour a week"
EagleInKY 14
Anarchist - I didn't say I cut across them, I said there are some that do. In this context, I meant that there are some "trailblazers" that try to short-cut the system.
anarchist 10
EagleInKY, I stand corrected...actually I'm sorta sitting and sipping, not standing... anyway...'briantshore'...joes always on...and sometimes the water gets a leeetle hot, but its all in good fun...
