    Our council commissioner sent an email saying that they were changing the Venturing age requirments to being just 13 to join. I haven't seen this anywhere else.

    I usually see things here on the forum months before our council sends things out and I haven't seen anything posted

    Has anyone else heard of this?

    Well, the last change was 13-1/2 and completed 8th grade. I wonder if there is some confusion.

    There is a "pilot" going on Middle School Exploring that I have heard about.

    But I see nothing on Scoutwire to support his claim.

      The current requirements are 13 + Completed 8th grade, or 14 years old. I don't know where 13 1/2 comes from... There may be some confusion from the Commissioner because this information was in the Summer 2011 edition of "The Commissioner." However, the requirements have been in place since May 1, 2010. I have heard rumors of them dropping it to just 13, but it hasn't actually been done yet.
