CNYScouter
I have been given the task to present a plan to the SM and Committee on how to improve the use of the Patrol Method in our Troop. I can see that most of the other leaders have no concept of what the Patrol Method is. I would like to start with a short bulleted list on what the patrol method is. I have some ideas but would like some input from the forum. I am not looking for ways to instill the patrol method but ways to explain what it means. ASM59
"The patrol system is not one method in which Scouting for boys can be carried on. It is the only method.'" Lord Baden-Powell See the following link: http://www.scouting.org/boyscouts/resources/18-800/lowroad.cgi I think you can get some good bullet points here. Kudu
If you are interested in accuracy, I would double check anything that the BSA attributes to Baden-Powell. Most of their B-P misquotes were actually things that were said by William Hillcourt, but in the 3rd Edition of "Handbook for Scoutmasters," Hillcourt attributes this one to Roland Phillips.
