Owl62
Does anyone know where or how the giving and wearing of Friendship Knots started? Also, does anyone have instructions on how to easily tie the Friendship Knot. Thanks.
Eamonn
Please don't quote me on this as I am not 100% sure. I think that there are two knots that are being called the Friendship Knot. One is in fact a crown knot and is often used by Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in place of a nekerchief slide or woggle. The other is a two strand lanyard knot that is also known as the sailor's lanyard knot or the Bosun's whistle knot. The crown knot is not very hard to tie but the other one does take a little practice. You might want to take a look at The Ashley Book Of Knots. Owl62
In addition to the regular Friendship knots, I recently saw some "double" Friendship knots. They had two strands in each run in the knot rather than one. Does anyone have instructs for these? Thanks
cougar24
I found this page when I was searching for a "how to tie" the friendship knot. This was the best page I found. http://www.e-scoutcraft.com/string/friendship_knot.html
