ehcalum 10
I have taken Fast Start, BLT, YPT, and Outdoor Leadership Skills from a council i was in when i became a leader, I have joined a new council as an ASM. Do my trainings transfer over as well or should I retake training? Thanks!
EagleInKY 14
As far as I know, training is training, no matter where you took it.
Eamonn 61
The trainings are good and go with you. You might want to find out about things that are different in your new locality. So you might want to retake the outdoor training. Eamonn If nothing else you get to meet the new and up and coming leaders.
anarchist 10
ehcalum, Sometimes training may not be needed but it can still be helpfull. As a Committee Memeber, the SM fundimentals and outdoor training was not required for my position, perhaps not even needed...(I never stopped camping after scouts... through college and into adulthood)I was even asked to come back and staff the next outdoor training class... but it put me into the mix of things with new SMs and ASMs and helped me make contacts and friends I might never have made... A refresher never hurts and the new contacts can be worth their weight in coffee!
