When to begin tracking wolf acheivements

My den just received their Tiger badges.

Do all activities from now on count for their wolf badge.

Not usually, because that wouldn't give the guys time to work on electives once they'd earned their rank badges. The way most packs do this is that the boys continue to work on electives for their current rank (Tiger, in your case) until the end of the school year. At that point, they can start working on the next rank. If for some reason you are in a pack that doesn't follow a school calendar, then it is typical to use June 1st as the date at which the boys move on to the next rank.

We have a "graduation" ceremony in June where the boys officially move up to the next rank. That is when we start counting activities toward the next rank badge. It also marks the end of when they can still get their previous rank badge.

 

Most of our guys get their rank badges at the Blue & Gold banquet in February, however, if a boy doesn't get all the requirements done by then, he has until the June graduation meeting to finish them and achieve that rank. After that, he begins working on the next rank.

 

If you don't have an official graduation ceremony, like Lisabob said, I've heard of some using June 1 as their cut off date.

According to BSA - "The Wolf program is for boys who have completed first grade (or are age 8)."

 

Until your den completes first grade they are still Tigers. BSA National's computer system, Scoutnet, advances all Cub Scout levels on June 1st.

 

There are still TONS of stuff the Tiger Teams can do together. Get that Shared Leadership going & have each Tiger Team plan a meeting based on a Tiger Elective!

Your den is still a Tiger Den so the boys should work on earning tiger tracks now. As others have said, your pack will probably have a crossover ceremony in late May or early June where the Tigers will cross over to Wolfs, Wolfs will cross over to Bears, and Bears will cross over to Webelos. Once this crossover takes place, then the boys can start work on Wolf advancement.

 

ScoutNut may be correct about scoutnet, at least for non LDS packs. The church of Latter Day Saints uses scouting for it's young men's prograrm and changing from one den level to the next occurs on each scouts birthday. The den does not move up together. Don't worry about this though because I know you are not involved in an LDS pack since they don't use the Tiger program.
