What kind of themes have you used for your Blue and Gold?

I'm at a lose as to what to do for this B&G. I know that we are going to use 75th Anniversary for the theme but what do you do?

We are using the 75th anniversary theme as well. We are panning on incorporating the history of Cub Scouting. The Webelos are performing a "History of Cubbing" skit. The tables are being decorated like a big birthday bash, balloons, streamers, gifts (PWD car and Quality Unit Patch) etc....

 

Around the room the decorations are all about Cub Scout history. Old uniforms, blown up pictures of the rank through history, old Pack flags (including mine from when I was growing up), old manuals and so on.

 

Let your imagination run wild and enjoy this opportunity to celebrate the 75th anniversary!

Thanks for the ideas. I had sort of thought of going by something like that but wasn't sure about it. We are thinking of doing a pot luck with the dinner. We have a committee meeting that we have to run the ideas through before the B&G. Maybe we can get the boys to do the decorations. Thanks!

Our pack is doing a "Cub Scouting through the Ages" theme. Each den is assigned a decade. It worked out perfect, covering the 30's through the 2000's.

I have heard of one unit that is using a miner theme because of the 75th diamond.

 

You could also use a 1930 theme and decorate like it was 1930.
