2Much
I am from a Pack in Boardman Ohio. We travel to Gettysburg in October so the boys can participate in the trails program. We usually stay at Conewago - but they are logging the week we need in October. We would like a lodge that has some bunks along with a kitchen. We also have boys who tent camp. We usually have a total of 40 or so attend. Does anyone know of any other camps other than Conewago or Tuckahoe? (neither are available)
CNYScouter
The Sea Scouts hold a training weekend at Camp Round Meadow in the Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, MD. every January. Catoctin Mountain Park is about 20 miles south of Gettysburg. http://www.nps.gov/archive/cato/recr/roundmea.htm There are also other camping options available at Catoctin Mountain Park. acco40
Why not camp at Gettysburg? Do a search in this forum on Gettysburg and you will find wealth of information on the topic.
scoutldr
We always use Hidden Valley Scout Reservation (Keystone Area Council), in Landisburg. Old camp, nice cabins, real friendly Ranger and Commissioner - nice people. It's about a 45 minute drive from Gettysburg, if you know the way.
