This thread was spun from another thread.What I am basically referring to, to make Air Scouting in Venturing similar to what Sea Scouting is already, also to focus on the avocational side of aviation, not to interfer with the Aviation Exploring Program of Exploring, but to reintroduce the program of the 50's and 60's with a 21st century emphasis, reinstate a 2 track recogntion and advancement system, bring back the encampments, seperate uniforming or ddi do all this within the 21st century Venturing Program emphasis

Could a crew be a Venturing Crew and do Rovering too? Yes I believe it could if the youth wanted too. combine the two programs into a super outdoor adventure program? Rovering was one of the forerunners of the Venturing program of today, in fact Rovering was before Explorer Scouts, and Explorer in the Troop program and it could be done. I believe as a second specialty to be done with an outdoor adventure crew, also it could be used to help set up a Honor Society and really restore an outdoor feel to the Venturing Program

A co-ed Air Scout program could be restored, would BSA republish the old Air Exploring Manuals from the 1950's and 1960's. I believe it could be done with a good rate of success.

Varsity and Venturing could probably be put together in a program but a few questions first, would it be co-ed, would it be under the Boy Scout Division or go to the Venturing Division, would it just be the Sports and Outdoor clusters that would be a part of this, would it appeal on a much broader level to being chartered by more organizations, the LDS sponsors many Teams, Would the unit be known still as a crew or still a team, or would it be absorbed by Venturing or would Venturing create a different program using much of Varsity's program then incorporate the Venturing Advancement program, would it greatly influence the crews that are operating now,Iguess that these and many other questions would be answered by BSA further up the line, or the changes and differences would be seen, Varsity can work closely with Venturing and it is recommended in their Guidebook, Venturing can use the Program Guides for many of it's activities,

I would like to address an issue that most Venturing Leaders are familiar with, A Venturing Honor Society, similar to the OA but where Female Venturers and Male Venturers that have not been in scouting before and probably not members of the OA, I think because of a sense of fairness that BSA should let a Venturing Honor Society be started, it could be set up similar to the OA, and be youth led and the youth could be nominated by the members of their crews and ships,I am wondering if any one else feels this way too and what their response would be to this, maybe some people up in the Venturing Division and or National Headquarters BSA this may help to retain youth in Venturing as well as a great crew program .
