  1. I have tried several times to make a profile and it is probably because I am working from a Library computer. So that all may know my profile, I post it here.

Right now, I live in Battle Creek, MI, USA.

    Born in l960.

Eagle Scout from Monterey Bay Council.

Started in the Boy Scouts before the big revision in the seventies.

Entered the U.S. Marine Corps in l978. Visited all of Asia onboard USS CORAL SEA. Participated in the Iranian-Contingency operation in l981. (Failed Rescue raid into Iran.)

After discharge, left for Europe where I lived for 4 years in many countries.

Did a year of philosophy at the Lateran University, Rome, Italy. In l991, went back into the service for Desert Storm and was sent to Saudi Arabia.

While in the Marine Corps, I took the Leadership Course for non-commissioned officers.

Discharged and did 2 years at Berea College KY.

On and off during these periods, I have lived in monasteries. I learned quite a bit from a holy abbot who had a photographic memory and knew 16 languages, twelve of them fluently.

I haven't been able to participate in the Boy Scout program because most of the time, I have been without transportation. My joy is in reading and learning and not making money, so I have to trade off. It's kind of hard to participate without a car. And usually I have to work two low paying jobs just to make ends meet and does not give time for other things. Most of my time I have spent as a farm laborer, not really a high paying job.

One either chases after money or one chases after wisdom. My decision is to chase after wisdom and poverty is my life (just like my hero Socrates). Philosophy requires leisure. What I lack in material riches, I have abounded in metaphysical riches. There is no money in Philosophy. What I observed at College, what I see in the political arena, my understanding of Classical texts, and being an Non-commissioned officer in the Marine Corps has given me valuable insights to what is going on. I may not have participated in the Boy Scout program after the age of l9 but I have participated in a program, called the Military, that puts the pedal to the metal. It is where the rubber meets the road.

Manure does not good piled in a heap...It only does good when it is spread around. I have learned a few things and observed a few things. In a sense I have done the Baden Powell thing by being in the military. That is where he developed his program from. I have done the Thomas Jefferson thing by working on farms all over this world. That is where I am coming from. Unconsciously, I've been trained in philosophy.

I am also Greek by blood. I do not compartmentalize my world. I do not seperate in this regard. I see everything as a whole. Truth is all conclusive. It is a seamless whole. As a Hellene, I take truth from whomever. And I am a lover of Truth. The physical is only the manifestation of the metaphysical.

  2. Fun. Do you not think that maybe you are giving a false impression of life. Are you really preparing them for life? Is real life about having fun?

When you habituate older boys that every thing has got to be "fun", I think sends a wrong answer. Military boot camp is not about fun. Doing most labor is not fun.

I was at college when a college professor said the same thing in this message. "let them have fun". When you expect people to behave like kids they will remain kids. The Boy Scout program is about growing up. Not maintaining childishness. This is setting a bad precedent. These kids enter the mainstream of life thinking everything is like that. It isn't.

  3. (This is a response in our group that Philosophy is not a science and that creationism is not scientific, has no merit and no value.)

This is in regards to what the job of Philosophy is. The following quotes are taken from Introduction of Philosophy by Jacques Maritain. This book is used in quite a few Roman Catholic seminaries around the world. I read this first in Rome.

Pg 60. Philosophy is not a wisdom of conduct or practical life that consists in acting well. It is a wisdom whose nature consists essentially in knowing.

Ibid. Philosophy , therefore is a science.

Ibid That is to say, the rule of philosophy, its criterion of truth, is the evidence of its object.

Pg 61. Philosophy therefore is concerned with everything, is a universal science.

Pg 67 for one truth cannot contradict another. (Parmenides principle of non-contradiction)

Ibid A science, however or rather a scientist, may happen to make a mistake in its own domain. In such a case the science in question is no doubt competent to judge and correct itself, but it is obvious that a superior science has also the right to judge and correct it, if the mistake should contradict one of its own results and thus come under its jurisdiction. But philosophy, and especially philosophy in the highest sense, that is metaphysics, is the sovereign science. Therefore, it is competent to judge every other human science, rejecting as false every scientific hypothesis which contradicts its own results.

Pg 68 Moreover, since the laws of one science are subordinate to the laws of a superior science, it clearly follows that it is the office of the superior science to govern the inferior. But since the principles of philosophy (the first philosophy or metaphysics) are the absolutely first principles of all human knowledge, they possess an authority over the principles of all other human sciences, which are in a certain sense dependent upon them. That is to say, philosophy (the first philosophy or metaphysics) governs the other sciences.

Aristotle disproves evolution in his book of Metaphysics. It is this Aristotelian-Thomist philosophy that is taught in all Roman Catholic Seminaries.

Philosophy says, Like produces Like. Evolution says dirt, which is dead produced life. How can something dead produce something living?

Philosophy says things are defined by their Act and Potentiality. Evolution says that humans descended from apes. Apes do not have the potentiality to produce humans.

Philosophy says all living things have souls. There are three different souls corresponding to the three types of living things, plants, animals, and humans. Evolution says Animals souls produced humans souls.

Philosophy says Form comes first. The chicken comes before the egg. The egg is the reproduction of the form. Evolution says the egg came first. If the egg is a reproduction , how can it exist before the thing (form) it reproduces?

Philosophy says Chance produces nothing. Evolution is all based on chance.

Philosophy says Intelligence produces order, organization. Evolution says, organization (organisms; which all life is) is produced by chance. Organization is not come about by chance.

Philosophy debunks evolution and Philosophy supports Creationism.

No Church Father upheld evolution. Evolution was proposed by the ancient Greek philosophers Epicurus and Democritus. (The Church teaches Aristotelian-Thomist Philosophy because of its eternal truths). Darwin did not invent evolution.

It is dangerous to wholly disdain the literal meaningparticularly of Genesis, where the unchangeable decrees of God for the constitution of the universe are set forth. Methodius c.290

[Celsus] does his utmost to reduce the human race to a still lower position and to bring them to the level of the irrational animals. Origen c. 248

How did that little seed of generation draw together the many atoms that were to constitute Epicurus? How did it frame and adapt the many members and parts? For of all these things, there is not one that is either idle or useless. Not even the smallest of them--such as the hair and nails. They all have their function to performWas Epicurus made, as they say, by the irrational multitude of atoms? No, the conjunction of atoms could not mold even an image of clay! And if even these representations and models cannot be made without the aid of wisdom, how can the genuine and original patterns of these copies have come into existence spontaneously? Dionysius of Alexandria c. 262

It is more believable that matter was made by God (because He is All-Powerful) than to believe that the world was not made by God. For nothing can be made without mind, intelligence, and design. Lactantius c304-313).

Justin the Martyr, Tatian, Theophilus, Origen, Dionysius of Alexandria, Methodius, Lactantius, and Arnobius are Church Fathers who dismissed evolution theory.

(A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs, David W. Bercot, Editor, Hendrickson Publishers. L998 pg 179f and 264f)

Spontaneous Generation I thought was disproved in the 18th Century. Evolution is just this, Spontaneous Generation a billion years ago.

Evolution is the foundation of Socialism. Maos two favorite books were by the evolutionists Darwin and Huxley. Evolution was the chief tool used to brainwash communisms masses into scientific atheism.

Nazism openly proclaimed its dependence on Darwin. Evolutionist Sir Arthur Keith wrote: The German Fuhrer, as I have consistently maintained, is an evolutionist; he has consciously sought to make the practice of Germany conform to the theory of evolution. The 20th century is the blood stained century of evolution.

Socialist and progressive thought is centered around the evolution of mankind. Christianity and the Scriptures do not teach this. We teach the fallen nature of mankind and mankind is returned to its original state through salvation in Jesus Christ.

  4. Socrates in the Republic:

Must we not acknowledge, I said, that in each of us there are the same principles and habits which there are in the state; and that from the individual they pass into the state?how else can they come there? (1)

Do you know, I said, that governments vary as the dispositions of men vary, and that there must be as many of the one as there are of the other? For we cannot suppose that States are made of oak and rock, and not out of the human natures which are in them, and which in a figure turn the scale and draw other things after them? (2)

for as the government is, such will be the man. (3)

Even the Bible says the same thing:

    The book of Sirach 10.2:

As the judge of the people is himself, so are his officers; and what manner of man the ruler of the city is, such are all they that dwell therein.

The character of the individual passes into the state. The state is only the reflection of the individuals it contains. Culture defines politics.

Before Alexander the Great stood the Persians on one side and the Greeks on another. He commanded all to kneel to him as a God. The Persians knelt but the Greeks under the influence of their general remained standing and refused to kneel. A Macedonian laughed at this and Alexander leaped up from his seat and smashed his head against the wall. How dare anyone laugh at a God? Nine months later, the Greek army general was murdered.

Only the Hellenes stood. Only the Hellenic resist unjust orders. Cicero and the Roman poet Horace, who were schooled in Athens, resisted against the destruction of the Republic and Cicero paid with his life.

Do you now understand why the hate against you? The Boy Scouts are a dangerous institution to some persons because you undermine what they attempt to do.

You dont live in a cocoon. Cause and Effect. Everything you do has ripple effect. What you do or fail to do has political ramifications. You are not immune. You are struggling against forces you do not understand or willing to face.

What do you study in the handbook about biology? Everything is interconnected. The rise of rabbits give rise to foxes. Destabilize the biosphere and the ecosystem becomes unbalanced. The web of life?

We are no different. We have our own biosphere. The parts make up the whole. The whole is made up of parts. One cannot divorce the part from the whole. Culture defines politics.

  5. Who was protesting the war in Vietnam? The weak? Who dropped the virtue "The Scout is Loyal" when North Vietnam invaded the south and killed many of our former allies? WHO DID WE LEAVE TWISTING IN THE WIND TO THEIR FATE? Once our withdrawal from SW Asia, Pol Pot took control and killed one million of his people thanks to the College academia of California that in Willie Browns words fomented the anti-war movement and "leaders?" in Congress passed an amendment saying that we could no longer help the South Vietnamese. Between the ages of 13 and 15, I cried when Saigon fell and when we couldn't help these people. WE GAVE THESE PEOPLE UP TO BUTCHERS. When I was stationed onboard the USS CORAL SEA, we, in l980, were still picking up people fleeing that country.

How come there are 50,000 foreigners in the American military and women in the military?

Isn't there enough able-bodied American men to do the job or all of them are shirking their DUTY and letting women and foreigners do the job.

If you read the fall of the Roman Empire, one characteristic was that Roman citizens did not want to serve and many foreigners did.

How come we don't have "eunomia" in this country? Do you even know what this word is? How come the Constitution is being ignored? How come there is no obedience to it anymore?

This and much more will be answered in the post "Culture defines Politics" and will be posted in the Political section.

  6. Plato The Republic, Translator B. Jowett, M.A., Vintage Books, pg 151 (435)

Nay, rather, Socrates, the proverb holds that hard is the good.

    Ibid pg52 (364)

The universal voice of mankind is always declaring that justice and virtue are honourable, but grievous and toilsome; and that the pleasures of vice and injustice are easy of attainment,

    Ibid pg53 (364)

Vice may be had in abundance without trouble; the way smooth and her dwelling-place is near. But before virtue the gods of have set toil. (Socrates quoting Hesiod, Works and Days, 287)

    Matthew 7:13-14

Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. (14) For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

A rock is sharpened with a rock. When Indians make arrowheads, they sharpen a rock with a rock. Man is the same way. A man must be sharpened by man. A man is sharpened by a rock. A man is sharpened by the hard.

What was the punishment given to Adam in Genesis? At the Fall, God cursed the serpent and God increased the pain of women. He attached punishment to their persons. But with the man it was different. The Lord God cursed the ground; He attached punishment to Adam personally (returning to the earth) and He made mans occupation harsh, rocky, difficult and rigourous! WHY? (Plato said, The beginning of truth is to wonder.)

The Lord God said, (Genesis 3:13f)+

Because thou hast hearkened to the voice of thy wife, and eaten of the tree concerning which I charged thee of it only not to eatof that thou hast eaten, cursed is the ground in thy labours, in pain shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. Thorns and thistles shall it bring forth to thee, and thou shalt eat the herb of the field. In sweat of thy face shalt thou eat thy bread until thou return to the earth out of which thou wast taken, for thou art earth and to earth thou shalt return.

Adam was weak and ineffectual as a leader. He was effeminate. God cursed the ground. He made it HARD for man to make a living. Rock sharpens rock. Earth now will sharpen man and make him hard. Not only was this the punishment but it was also the medicine that would heal man. This is part and parcel and the foundation of the Protestant Work Ethic that made America great. Man is toughened and made rugged. One cant make it out in nature unless one is tough. Either you are tougher than nature or better; or nature kills you. Man is turned from being effeminate to being a righteous man.

Thomas Jefferson said, The yeoman of America are not the canaille of Paris. What is he comparing here? He is comparing here the American Land-owning Farmer, who was hard rugged and independent with the city inhabitants of Paris, who were fomenting rebellion; the foundation of socialism. Canaille is dogs in French; it is slang for the mob.

It is written in the Book of Sirach Hate not laborious work, neither husbandry, which the most High hath ordained. I have worked in the construction field. Men who are righteous labor hard to do something right and true. The effeminate man does what he can quickly or does it half-measured since he cant be bothered, he doesnt care; he doesnt want to exert himself because doing the job right is a painful process.

Another Lesson: In the Old Testament God brought the Hebrews to the promised land. The spies came back with exaggerated tales and the people were fearful. They did not believe in God. They were cowardly. (Num 13:31f) So God swore in his heart that they will not enter into the Promised Land. (Num 14:29f) And they did not. Prov 19:15 Cowardice possesses the effeminate man. (The Greek here is androyinon; andre is the Greek for man and yinon is the Greek for woman.) The Lord God made them wander for forty years in the desert so that He could wipe out that effeminate generation and replace them with hardy and rugged soldiers. And it was this generation that entered the Promised Land. The Promised Land is a type of heaven. What does St. Paul say, Do not be deceived, the effeminate,..shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Jesus said The way is hard, that leads to life. The good comes through the hard. Virtue is hard. Vice is easy. Aristotle [Politics Loeb Classical Library, pg 651(1339)] said, Now it is not difficult to see that one must not make amusement the object of the education of the young; for amusement does not go with learninglearning is a painful process. Education is painful, ignorance is easy. Reading a book is hard, naivete is easy. Memorization is hard, darkness is easy. Manliness is hard, childishness is easy. Righteousness is hard, carelessness is easy. Perfection is hard, sloppiness is easy. Freedom is hard, slavery is easy. The Good is hard dull and boring, evil is easy, exciting, thrilling, pleasant and cheap. God is a man of war(Exodus 15:3 Masoretic Text, Hebrew Pentatuch), the devil is an effeminate transvestite.

Education fails in America because America is effeminate. Learning is a painful process. The effeminate flees pain. Education started in the Greeks because they were manly.

What does the Holy Spirit command?

Joshua 1:6 Be strong, and quit thyself like a man. Isxue kai andrizou.

Joshua 1:7 Be strong, therefore, and quit thyself like a man.

Joshua 1:9 be strong and courageous, be not cowardly nor fearful.

Joshua 1:18 but be thou strong and courageous.

Deut 31:23 And he charged Joshua and said, Andrizou kai isxue.

II Kings 10:12 Be thou courageous, and let us be strong Andrizou kai krataiothomen.

How long will it take for a Boy Scout to hear this charge? Who will Command and Teach. (1 Tim 4:11)

(All Old Testament quotes come from the Septuagint unless otherwise noted.)

  7. Your boy is truly a Spartan. The Boy Scouts, in a sublimenal way, are based on the Spartans. He needs to read about them. Both Socrates and Plato, even though they were Ionian Greeks and Athenians, were philo-Spartans. Xenophon, an Athenian gentleman, went to live with the Spartans.

You will love the following extract:

"Puberty rituals are mainly an enactment of the psychological separation that the boy must achieve from his mother. The three stages that van Gennep identified, seperation, transition, and incorporation are visible in these ceremonies." (The Church Impotent, The Feminization of Christianity, Leon J. Podles, Spence Publishing Co. Dallas, l999, pg 48-49.)

Next comes from the book, Sex Differences, Modern Biology and the Unisex Fallacy, by Yves Christen, trans by Nichols Davidson.

In their studies, boys NATURALLY draw away from what is weak. They are in a sense repelled by the weak. Women are naturally drawn to the weak. They are drawn to children, wounded and the hurt. That is why they make good nurses and good mothers. Boys are drawn to the strong and they should be.

I will further post: "A mystery, The good comes thru the hard". This should help you some.

    Next:

    The definition of Truth.

Truth is the FAITHFUL REPRESENTATION OF REALITY. (Apostolos Makrakis)

The Criteria of Truth is consistency. This is stated in Plato's Republic. Socrates uses it all the time. The clearer demonstration is from the Laches a dialogue of Plato on courage (andrea).

Socrates: "And I will begin with courage, and once more ask what is that common quality, which is the same in all these cases, and which is called courage?" Noitice "same in all cases". The person would give a definition and then Socrates gives another situation and the person would find out that his definition would not fit this new situation. Then Socrates would ask "Give me a definition of courage that will fit ALL situations that require courage". The person then would discover the REAL definition of courage and then come to real knowledge.

An expression of this truth is the criterion sent down for the Christian Faith by St. Vincent Lerins: "What has been believed by all, from the beginning, at all times." This statement encapsulates the criterion of consistency. "Consistency" is the criterion of truth.

St. Maximos the Confessor said, "One man with the truth is the majority."

That is why Socrates was put to death. For standing for truth.

What is going on is that "progressive" ideas are wattering down the truth and just like silt of a river will cover the rocks, so will new ideas cover over the truth.

Jesus himself said, "Palios Xristos", The Old is Golden. Is not God Old?

Truth does not change and your son has a feel and a zeal for truth.

Cicero said, "Truth is not one thing in Athens and another thing in Rome. Truth is not one thing yesterday and another thing today."

(Notice, I can quote and the otherguy just has opinions. Whom did he quote from? Knowledge is different from opinion. People have a ton of opinions but few have knowledge.)

Truth is eternal. Truth is changeless. The only problem is man's perception of it and evil that seeks to obscure it. This is the paradigm of the Cave in Plato's Republic.

  8. The information is there.

I learned most of my stuff from Kurt Von Leddihn a German Aristocrat that lived and knows this stuff. Words and ideas are dangerous, they mean things.

I have been posting on another website and the more I wrote, the more I came to see that my writings have a bearing on the BSA. We are in a cultural war. I am an Eagle Scout and a Former Marine. I have been searching a long time for the BSA message board and I found this.

    Let's get the discussion going.

  9. Did you not learn something? Tell me, you knew all this information already?

Is not the first law of the scout law to be "TRUSTWORTHY"?

How many of your boys in your boy scout troop think and are taught that we live in a democracy? How many boys have a FALSE knowledge?

Are we not to be "TRUSTWORTHY" to our state and heritage?

Does the requirements on citizenship say democracy or republic?

  10. What are my issues?

Right now, the Boy Scouts of America are under attack. Why??? Have you done anything wrong?

Philosophy undergrids everything. Without understanding the whys and hows of things we lose understanding and then we drop things we shouldn't have.

Is there not a lot of false information out there. (I was just corrected in another post and I learned something.) What I'm doing is giving you ammunition to understand the philosophical basis of what Baden Powell took for granted that many Americans today don't know.

This is about giving you an intellectual basis for the things we believe in.

Right now there is no "Philosophy of being a Man". "A Philosophy of the Boy Scouts". Simpleness is not going to defend you or manhood or direct us to "TO DO OUR BEST".

It is also to BUTRESS, to give strength, to what we are accomplishing.

Also, we need to become more SCIENTIFIC. Raising and training boys is not an haphazard, willy-nilly, approach. Knowledge is needed for perfectness.

We need to start the ball rolling and develop a scientific and philosophical foundation of manhood. And understand history of manhood and its concepts. We need to become "MENTALLY AWAKE".

I suggested to the admin to start a Philosophical section.

As Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living".

  11. Please say the Pledge of Allegiance to yourself.

"I pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands..."

A Republic is not a democracy. Democracy is not a Republic. A Republic is not a parliamentary Democracy. A Republic is not a Constitutional Democracy. A Republic is not a representative Democracy. Nowhere in the classics do Plato, Aristotle, Polybius or Cicero use these terms interchangeably. Nowhere in the Federalist papers is democracy looked upon with favor. It is a REPUBLIC that our Christian Founding Fathers instituted and worked for.

Ask any honest liberal, and if he is knowledgeable and truthful, he will say that he is a socialist. Liberals are only socialists with the Orwellian name change. Socialism lives in democracies. Democracy is the worst form of government. Every country in the world is socialist. Europeans are proud to be socialistic. Australians and Canadians live in very socialistic societies. I lived in Europe for 3 and half years. I know. America is socialist. Most Americans are socialists. What do you think social security and food stamps are? Where is social security in the Constitution and where is it the duty of the federal government? Please quote article and section.

Socialism takes two economic forms, communism, where the state owns the property and controls it and the second form is the Hegelian synthesis between communism and capitalism, Fascism. Fascism is of the Left. Fascism is a form of Socialism.

Herbert Hoover describes Fascism thus: "Fascism, as distinguished from Socialism, preserves private property and enterprise as implements of bureaucracy." (Challenge to Liberty, 67)

From Ralph Epperson in his book, The Unseen Hand:

Free Enterprise System: Where the capital goods are owned and controlled by the individual.

Fascism: Where the capital goods are owned by the individual and controlled by the state.

Socialism: Where the capitol goods are owned and controlled by the state.

Communism: Where the capitol goods are owned and controlled by coercive monopolies." (ibid, 473)

Mussolini who coined the term fascism defined it thus "...that this will be a century of authority, a century of the LEFT, a century of Fascism;... it may be expected that this will be the century of COLLECTIVISM, and hence the century of the state..." (pg 66, The Challenge to Liberty, by Herbert Hoover who quotes it from the Encyclopedia Italiano Vol 14).

Hitler was of the left. But you will hear the term far-right neo-nazi in the press (who are college educated) and from political scientists.

Did you know that Nazi is an acronym?

Do you know what the acronym is?

National Socialist Workers Party. What Conservative calls himself socialist or of a workers party? What rightist calls himself socialist or of a workers party? NONE. How could rightist be a socialist? It is an oxymoron. (This is how stupid and ignorant most people are.)

"Almost all of these ideologies--socialism, ethnic nationalism, fascism, National Socialism of the Czech as well as of the German pattern--claimed to be democratic...

"All these philosophies are anti-Catholic, anti-monarchical, anti-traditional; they look solely to the future, want to build new society, and are "dawnist"...

    "and claim to be "progressive" (Liberty or Equality, von Kuenhelt-Leddihn, Erik, l952 pg 211){ Erik von Kuenhelt-Leddihn is a staunch Catholic. He has just recently fell asleep in the Lord a year ago. By the use of the word von we know that he is an Austrian aristocract. He lived through the Spanish Civil War and WWII.}

"Naturally, Hitler knew all too well that the Nazi Revolution was "the exact counterpart of the French Revolution"; and he thought of himself not only as "the conqueror but also the executor of Marxism-of that part that is essential and justified, stripped of its Jewish-Talmudic dogma" .

"He was particularly proud of the extent to which he had learned from the political methods of the Social Democrats".

"National socialism is socialism in evolution," Hitler insisted, "socialism in everlasting change." And, he went on to admit, "There is more that unites us with than divides us from bolshevism... above all the genuine revolutionary mentality. I was aware of this and I have given the order that former Communists should be admitted to the party immediately". (All of the above quotes come from the book Leftism Revisited, Erik von Kuenhelt-Leddihn, l990 pg158)

Why is all of this important you ask?

Jesus is quoted in Luke 21:8 says, "Take heed that ye be not deceived."

In the Jewish Tanak (Old Testament) Proverbs 20:1 (KJV) "...whoever is deceived thereby is not wise".

In the book of Sirach (Septuagint), Eccl 13:8, "Beware that thou be not deceived..."

What was Eve's excuse to the Lord?

Genesis 3:14, "The serpent deceived me and I ate". The methodology of evil is deceivement. The devil works through deceivement. Does not St. Paul say the devil is as an angel of light (2Cor11:14). Why is the devil clothed as an angel of light. So that he can deceive. And what does deceivement bring: it brings its victims death. Is not the devil called the deceiver. What is the 9th commandment? Thou shalt not bear false witness. The least of the commandments was broken by the devil; thou shalt not covet; the 10th commandment. In the book of Solomon, Septuagint, Wis 2:24, "Nevertheless through envy of the devil came death into the world:..." But the devil envied and led him to break the 9th commandment; thou shalt not bear false witness, which he did. Eve believed the devil, convinced Adam to eat, and death followed in the wake of the deceivement. .

God is a judge. He will not hear that excuse again. Be Not Deceived. Do you bear false witness? Are you like Eve and are you deceived?

I am not deceived. 1 John 4:6 says, "By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error." Deceivement brings death and wisdom brings life.

Adonai is the Hebrew term for Lord. Lord is not a democratic term. It is an aristocratic term.

Psalm 10:16 (KJV) "The Lord is King". This is not the term of the democracy. It is term of a monarchy.

God is a King. Who has a throne but a King; Psalm 10:5 (Septuagint) "His throne is in heaven".

Socrates in Plato's Republic remarks that the heavens are ruled by One. Nature has one law and so it has one lawgiver. He ends the Republic with the knowledge that the Philosopher King must rule. As it is in the heavens so it must be on earth.

Every military unit is run by one. Each a king over a unit. One head one body.

Where did the words right and left to describe politics come from?

After the French Revolution, the French Republic was established. In the parliament, the pro-monarchists and aristocrats sat on the right and the democrats sat on the left.

An extreme rightist is a monarchist. A moderate rightist is for republican government. A leftist is for democracy. An extreme leftist is a socialist, communist, fascist, anarchist.

Where does the term conservative and liberal come from? The word conservative also came out of the French Revolution. It means one who conserves the OLD Order. Liberals, in Queens English, meant standing for liberty but this word has been morphed into being a cover for a socialist. A liberal is a progressive. He is to destroy the old order and replace it with his progressive ideology.

Every Christian is an extreme rightist. Jesus is Lord. God is King. That is a rightist statement. "God is King" is said within the Jewish services. Every Jew is a rightist and they don't even know it. When the soldiers in their intention to mock Jesus by saying, "All hail King of the Jews". (Mat. 27:29), the Holy Spirit was speaking through them, speaking the truth, for as it is paraphrased in Genesis 50:20, "Man proposes but God disposes". (see note 20 on page190 of Pentateuch and Haftorahs; Hebrew Text English Translation and Commentary, The Soncino Press.) Every Christian is a rightist because we seek the Kingship of Jesus over us and in our lives. This makes us monarchists. When we fall asleep in the Lord, we are not going to a democracy. We are going to a monarchy. God rules and what He says goes.

In Philippians 3:20, St. Paul says, "But our commonwealth is in heaven, ...". St. Paul uses the word "politeuma'. It is translated into the old English word, the commonwealth. A commonwealth is a republic. (Massachusetts and Kentucky are not states, they are called commonwealths.) 'Politeuma' is the Greek word for constitutional government. This word is used by Aristotle in his book, Politics, to describe a Republican form of government. Aristotle does not use the word democracy and republic interchangeably. Neither does Socrates in Plato's Republic. They are quite different institutions.

A republic is the rule of law. "...it is preferable for the law to rule rather than any one of the citizens, and according to this same principle, even if it be better for certain men to govern, they must be appointed as guardians of the laws and in subordination to them;... the law shall govern seems to recommend that God and reason alone shall govern..." (Politics III, xi3-5 or 1287a)

A democracy puts the people above the law. Aristotle noted, "men ambitious of office by acting as popular leaders bring things to the point of the people's being sovereign even over the laws." (Politics, V. iv 6 or 1305a)

Aristotle says in V vii 7 that "constitutional government turns into a democracy". Then, all three, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle warn that, "Tyranny, then arises from no other form of government than democracy." "And Huey Long very penetratingly said that when fascism came to the United States it would call itself democracy". (Liberty or Equality, Kuenhelt-Leddihn, 123)

What did God institute in the Torah, the first five books of the Pentateuch? He instituted a government of laws; a 'politeuma', a republic.

A republican form of government is a mixture of the best elements of three forms of government; the monarchy, the aristocracy and the democracy. Polu (poly) in the Greek word means `many'. The period of the judges in Hebrew history is the 'politeuma'. St. Paul refers to this exact situation when he refers to the state of the Chosen People as "the commonwealth of Israel" in Eph 2:12. God is the King and the judges were the aristocracy, through merit, that governed Israel. And the Law of God, the Torah, ruled the people. The prophet Samuel tried to keep the republic by unsuccessfully dissuading the people from making a monarchy.

    Conclusion:

America is socialistic: the form we practice is fascism. Fascism being the mean between capitalism and communism.

Democracy is the worst form of government and always has been.

There is no longer a rule of law in this country. The people are above the law. All we hear from everybody how great democracy is; but it shows how much people are deceived and a deceived people are not wise. An unwise person is called a fool. Nature kills fools.

It is very funny to see that before WWII, National Socialism was considered on the Left; a part of socialism but after WWII, it changed to being on the right. It is also funny to see political cartoons that paint Jerry Falwell standing with Hitler as if Mr. Falwell had anything to do with Hitler and his rise to power.

The term, `The Christian Right' was a label attached by the Liberal Left upon fundamental Christians in order to denigrate Bible-believing Christians and to demonize them. Christians didn't label themselves, the liberal media and academics did. This has been the greatest propaganda ploy the Left has ever pulled. They gave birth to National Socialism but in order to keep power and to deceive people that they were really responsible for National Socialism, after the war, they did the Orwell name change and `wal-la' Hitler is of the right and so are the Christians. But like their leader before them who was mocked, Christians are also mocked. But God is not thwarted by man. No, "Man proposes but God disposes", They intend to mock Christians, but what they really did was tell the truth. Christians are Rightists in the truest sense of the word.

    The King James Bible

1 Cor 6.9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, not idolaters, not adulterers, nor EFFEMINATE, nor abusers of themselves with mankindshall inherit the kingdom of God.

What is this word EFFEMINATE? How come modern Bibles dont have this word in it but older Bibles do?

In the original Greek there are five activities mentioned, but in a scholarly professional work of a 26th edition, only four of the five words are translated into English. They use the word sexual perverts. The Greek is clear on its own meaning. The two Greek words are malakoi and arsenokoitai. Arsenokoitoi in the literal translation of the Greek means men who lie with men and the literal translation of malakoi is soft and when applied to a man means effeminate.

At the college I attended, I reread Platos Republic in which Socrates remarks that Too much music effeminizes the man. I thought this an odd comment until the fundamentalist Protestants on campus began a campaign amongst themselves to push other Protestant Christians to use only The King James Bible. Their contention was that modern Bibles mistranslate quite a few verses and that the only Bible to trust is the KJV. When I picked up their material, 1 Corinthians 6:9 jumped out. My Roman Catholic Bible, The New American Bible, did not have this same verse. My friend in the classical department pointed out the Greek. The King James Bible was correct and my version was in error.

What are they trying to hide? What is so important that this word is left out of one Bible and mistranslated in others but not mistranslated in old Bibles? What is going on? "Malakoi" does not have any sexual connotations whatsoever.

Words have meaning. They convey ideas. Lose the word, society loses the idea and the concept. When is the last time or have you ever heard the word, effeminate or effeminization? This word like manliness is gone completely out of our vocabulary and our educational system. The idea of manliness and effeminancy is totally lost on modern society. Ask yourself, is it by chance or by design?

    Platos Republic

The one producing a temper of hardness and ferocity, the other of softness and effeminacy. To the answer of an exclusive devotion to gymnastics and the exclusive devotion to music. (III Republic, pg 118 Translator B. Jowett, M.A., Vintage Books.)

In a paraphrase, Too much music effeminizes the male.

Platos Republic is an educational treatise. Though it is a discussion of the State, many of Socrates discussion centers around education. Education deals with culture and Culture defines politics.

Does too much music turn a boy into boy prostitute or a sexual pervert? No. This is silly. Then why do men with college degrees and years of schooling get things so wrong? How could a "scholary" edition be so erroneous?

Herodotus Loeb Classical Library Pg 197 Book 1 155-157

But let the Lydians be pardoned; and lay on them this command, that they may not revolt or be dangerous to you; then, I say, and forbid them to possess weapons of war, and command them to wear tunics under their cloaks and buskins on their feet, and to teach their sons lyre-playing and song and dance and huckstering (the word retail in one translation). Then, O King, you will soon see them turned to women instead of men; and thus you need not fear lest they revolt.

This is an appeal from King Croesus, the king of the Lydians, a Greek city and people on the West coast of Turkey, to the Persian King. What the defeated king proposes is to inculturate softness in order to make them docile and servile. Here is the principle Culture defines Politics. Evil men and Good men read this both. A good man prevents the effeminization of men while an evil man (i.e. a socialist) seeks to effeminize the men (or is deceived into doing it.)

    Isa 3:13 (Masoretic Text)

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

    Isa 19:16 (Septuagint)

But in that day the Egyptians shall be as women, in fear and in trembling because of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shall bring upon them.

    Nah 3:13 (Septuagint)

Behold, thy people within thee are as women: the gates of thy land shall surely be opened to thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

    Jer 28:30(Septuagint)

The warrior of Babylon has failed to fight; they shall sit there in the siege; their power is broken; they are become like women; her tabernacles have been set on fire; her bars are broken.

Clearly, the Old Testament realizes this same concept. The Greeks have a word for this and it is called malakoi effeminate.

Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs, David W. Bercot, Editor pg 445

A true man must have no mark of EFFEMINACY visible on his face, or any other part of his body. Let no blot on his manliness, then, ever be found either in his movements or habits. St. Clement of Alexander (c. 195, E), 2.289.

And let not men, therefore, spend their time in barbers shops and taverns, babbling nonsense. And let them give up hunting for the women who sit nearby, and ceaselessly talking slander against many to raise a laugh. St. Clement of Alexandria (c. 195, E), 2.289

What is the purpose in the Laws prohibition against a man wearing womans clothing? Is it not that the Law would have us to be masculine and not to be EFFEMINATE in either person or actions--or in thought and word? Rather, it would have the man who devotes himself to the truth to be masculine both in acts of endurance and patience--in life, conduct, word, and discipline. St. Clement of Alexandria (c. l95, E), 2.365.

    Pg 693.

Therefore, we also reckon that the woman should be continent and practiced in fighting against pleasures, too. Women are therefore to philosophize equally with men, though the males are preferable at everything, unless they have become EFFEMINATE. To the whole human race, then, discipline and virtue are a necessity, if they would pursue after happiness St. Clement of Alexandria (c. 195, E), 2.419, 420

    Pg 694

It is not permitted to a woman to speak in the church, not to teach, baptize, offer, or to claim to herself a lot in any manly function, not to mention the priestly office. Tertullian (c. 207, W), 4.33

I picked up an old book on education at my college library. In it was the phrase, How can we educate without effeminizing? To this day I kick myself for not keeping a reference of this.

In my humble opinion, this word, malakoi is the most important word in the whole bible. Why else would they mistranslate the word so improperly? Because it is a dangerous word. It is a dangerous word because of the concepts and ideas that it entails. The sin of Adam was that he was EFFEMINATE. He was weak and ineffectual. St. Paul blames Adam not Eve for the falling away. Adam was responsible. Not Eve. The principle, culture defines politics, is more clearly defined in Platos Republic. It is the principle of microcosm/macrocosm; what goes in the little part, so goes the whole. As the man is effeminate, so is the state. As the man is effeminate, so is the church. As the man is weak and ineffectual, so is the church weak and ineffectual.

Christianity can not survive in effeminate men. Self government only existed among the Greeks because of their manliness. It was this major factor that made them free and self governing. The Persians and other asiatics lived under tyranny. The one word that the Greeks described the asiatics and the Persians was the word, malakoi.

    Effeminacy and Thought

Xenophon, Econ. IV, 3 as quoted in The Greeks by Kitto

Men do indeed speak ill of those occupations which are called handicrafts, and they are rightly held of little repute in communities, because they weaken the bodies of those who make their living at them by compelling them to sit and pass their days indoors. Some indeed work all the time by a fire. But when the body becomes effeminate the mind too is debilitated. Besides, these mechanical occupations leave a man no leisure to attend to his friends interests, or the public interest. This class therefore cannot be of much use to his friends or defend his country. Indeed, some states, especially the most warlike, do not allow a citizen to engage in these handicraft occupations.

Thomas Jefferson, Foley, ed., Encyclopedia of Thomas Jefferson, p. 318

A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walk.

The Ancients did not divorce the body from the mind. 2200 years later, Thomas Jefferson recognized the same thing. The body is not separate from the mind. There is no compartmentalization. Weak body, weak mind. Strong body, strong mind.

To strengthen the argument of the mechanics, Thomas Jefferson, furthermore, said pretty much the same thing:

The mobs of great cities add just so much to the support of pure government, as sores do to the strength of the human body.I consider the class of artificers as the panderers of vice, and the instruments by which the liberties of a country are generally overturned.

(quoted in Liberty or Equality, Erik von Kuenhelt-Leddhin, pg 6, reference from Works, ed, Washington [New York: Derby and Jackson, 1859], I, 403.)

One can have all the academic excellence in the world but if the man doesnt have boldness in proclaiming it, whats it worth? St. Augustine said, It is not enough to be good, it is necessary to fight evil. To Fight requires manliness and boldness. What good is faith without manliness?

As to the question as why do communists want to destroy the ruggedness of the people? to take away their independence. Are the Boy Scouts of America slackening on the ruggedness of their boys training?

  13. Find an old field manuals and give them to him. Give him a potato and a half of chicken and have him run out there and cook it for himself for dinner. Learn how to lash. Have him learn to track animals and give reports of their trails and habitats. Have him give a botanical record of all that is in your backyard. A census of animals.

Have him work for farmers. Give him Plutarch's Lives to read. Have him read Herodotus. Give him the classics to read.

Your boy has a strong masculine bent in him. The 'love' of the old is a sign of it. Encourage it. He is also pulling away from you. He is asserting his manhood. Boys need a break from their mothers.

  14. This thread was spun from another thread. This is excerpted from a 1948 Boy Scout Field Manual, pg 469

(It is as is and the title below is original)

MENTALLY awake! in everything you do or think-- thats part of our Scout Oath. What you make of yourself depends to a large extent on your mental alertness. Have you an inquiring mind? Do you learn something new each day, think out a new way of doing old things? The boy who is mentally awake has more adventure in a day than a dull boy has in a month. He gets more out of life - and he gives more to other people.

Whats more, he is on his way to becoming a man of action.

    Becoming a Man

Baden-Powell tells of the test that was given the Zulu boy of Africa before he was considered a man:

When a boy was becoming old enough to be a warrior, he was stripped of his clothing and painted white all over. He was given a shield with which to protect himself and an assagai, or a short spear, with which to kill animals and enemies. He was then turned loose into the bush.

If anyone saw him while he was still white they would hunt him and kill him. That white paint took about a month to rub off it would not wash off. So for a month the boy had to hide away in the jungle and to live as best he could.

He had to follow up the tracks of deer and to creep up near enough to spear the animal in order to get food and clothing for himself.

He had to make fire for cooking his food by rubbing two sticks together. He had to be careful not to let his fire smoke too much, or it would catch the eye of scouts on the look-out for him.

He had to be able to run long distances, to climb trees and swim rivers in order to escape from his pursuers. He had to brave and stand up to a lion or any other wild animal which attacked him. He had to take care that, wherever he went he left no foot tracks by which he could be followed.

For a month he had to live this life, sometimes in burning heat, sometimes in cold and rain.

When at last the white stain had worn off, he was able to return to his village, and then he was received with great joy and allowed to take his place among the young warriors of the tribe.

    THINK!

That was fine training for a Zulu world, but in a modern world, the most important thing you can learn to do is to Think!

something thats not taught in books.

    **********************************************************************

Baden-Powell noticed many other cultures that he visited also had some training of men and a rite of initiation for men.

Even the Jews of today still have the Bar Mitzvah for 13 year old boys. This is a integral part of Jewish life. Why?

At the age of 13, the Jewish boy becomes responsible for his faith. How can one be responsible without knowing the law? The Jewish boy is prepared for up to a whole year beforehand, learning to read Hebrew and learning how to chant. Then at that Sabbath service, he stands before the congregation and PROVES his ability to accept manly responsibility for the faith: he leads the whole congregation for the whole service.

A boy proves his manhood in both of these circumstances. Baden-Powell is brilliant in his insight to male psychology and sociology. A boy must be trained into manhood. Boys must be sharpened into being men.

    In Addendum

My dad was an old Boy Scout leader and this is his old Field Manual. This is why I like old books because as things get more and more progressive they obscure old ideas and reasons. Things get lost. Old is Golden. The Boy Scouts of America are becoming more progressive and dropping old ideas because (1) their critics, (2) modern people don't understand concepts that were normal back then,(3) trying to 'fit in' with the times. Socialists and socialist ideology is making great headway in all areas of our culture.

  15. The title "Lord" Baden-Powell signifies that he was an aristocrat. He was also an officer in the British Military. Officers only came from the aristocracy.

Second, equality is a socialist term. Equality is a metaphysical term that can not be applied to nature. The verb that precedes 'equality' is 'make'. Nothing in nature is equal. Ever worked on a diary farm. Even the female cows line up in an hierarchical line. Ever heard of the "pecking order". Every farmer who has chickens knows this. The only time equality is used is when 'make' precedes it and it has fascist overtones to it.

  16. I read a biography of Baden Powell. He was in the military and he saw a need that men have to be trained as soldiers. Boot camp does not make a soldier and the city people being conscripted into the British military were not ready for the campaigns or the military life.

Don't forget Baden-Powell grew up in Victorian England as an aristocrat and Victorian England's culture was based on the Classics especially the ancient Greeks. He was formed by this classical culture.

  17. There has to be consequences for bad behavior. This is not, as someone said earlier about not doing a demonstration. Cheffy said, "Many". This was across the board deceivement by all involved. The person signing should lose all opportunities in the future to sign off on any body's requirements. The boy in question should lose his badge and be required to "earn" them.

Enron, Tyco, and many other institutions are failing because of the lack of virtue. The recent Wall Street debacles are a good example of the lack of virtue and people turning a blind eye to corruption.

  18. Put a girl on an island and she will come close to becoming a woman. The girl can attain a substantial amount of womanhood without training. Womanhood for girls comes naturally.

It is different for a boy. A boy must be taught to be a man. Manhood doesnt come naturally to a boy. Any boy doesnt know what it means to be a man. Everything must be learned. This process is called Paideia. One of the subjects of Paideia is the training of a boy to be a man. This particular theme is called Virtue.

What is Virtue? This word comes from the Latin. Well, what are the first three letters of the word? VIR. vir. Vir is the Latin term for man. So then Virtus means to be a man. Vir in the word virtue is the Latin word for man. The Latin word virtus is the derivative of the Greek word arete from which all of Greek culture and padeia (education) was centered on.

St. Peter uses this very word of arete as next to importance to faith in his letter 2 Peter 1:5-7:

For this very reason make every effort to supplement your faith with arete and arete with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control (temperance) and self-control with steadfastness, etc. As you can see, virtue comes before knowledge (academics).

St. Paul uses the word arete in Philippians 4:8:

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence (arete), if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

What are the virtues? The four basic ones are enumerated in the book of Wisdom 8:7,

And if a man loves righteousness, her labours are virtues (arete in the Septuagint which is the Greek Old Testament): for she teaches temperance (self-control), and prudence (wisdom), righteousness (dike)and manliness (fortitude and/or boldness).

The Greek word used here for manliness is andrian. Andre in Greek is Man.

    The virtues are:

    Manliness (Fortitude, Courage, Boldness)

Prudence (could also mean commonsense, and shrewdness)

Righteousness (doing things the right way, in accordance with fact, reason, or truth)

    Temperance (self-control)

    Steadfastness (Titus 2:1)

Gravitas (Latin word meaning seriousness)(Titus 2:7)

    Integrity (Titus 2:7)

    Obedience

    Cleanliness

    Reverent

    and others

Scouting was developed by Baden-Powell for the express purpose of training boys to be men. His Scout law is an incorporation of virtues:

A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent.

Arete when used by the Ancient Greeks was used to apply to anything; the excellence of a horse or the excellence of a bull to be breed, or the excellence of a man. Arete when applied is not gender neutral word. The word Arete changes in meaning to what it is attached to. Everything has its peculiar excellence or arete. The Arete of a man is different than the Arete of a woman. St. Paul elaborates the arete of a woman in Titus 2:4-5:

and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be sensible, chaste, domestic, kind, and submissive to their husbands, that the word of God may not be discredited.

The arete of a woman is not to be a man. The excellence of women is to increase in the virtue of feminity; it is not to be masculinized.

Western Culture is based and has its foundation in Hellenism. So, does Christianity. It is the Hellenic-Christian Culture. The whole focal point of Ancient Greek padeia (education) is the inculcation of arete in boys so that they could become men. The whole point of the Hellenic padeia was to make civilized men.

The importance of all this is explicated in 4 Maccabees. (The book of Wisdom and 4 Maccabees (and the New Testament) was written in Greek and under Greek cultural presence.) Though 4 Maccabees is not in Catholic canon, it is scripture for an Orthodox Church in the Middle East. It is an integral book of the Septuagint the basis of the canon of the Roman Catholic Bible. It does have some authority, some weight.

4 Mcc 1:1-6 As I am going to demonstrate a most philosophical proposition, namely, that religious reasoning is absolute master of the passions, I would willingly advise you to give the utmost heed to philosophy. For reason is necessary to every one as a step to science: and more especially does it embrace the praise of prudence, the highest virtue (the Greek word here is arete).

If, then, reasoning appears to hold the mastery over the passions which stand in the way of temperance, such as gluttony and lust, it surely also and manifestly has the rule over the affections which are contrary to righteousness, such as malice; and of those which are hindrances to manliness, as wrath, and pain, and fear. How, then, is it, perhaps some may say, that reasoning, if it rule the affections, is not also master of forgetfulness and ignorance? They attempt a ridiculous argument. For reasoning does not rule over its own affections, but over such as are contrary to righteousness, and manliness, and temperance, and prudence; and yet over these, so as to withstand, without destroying them.

4Mcc 1:15-16 Reasoning is, then, intellect accompanied by a life of rectitude, putting foremost the consideration of wisdom. And wisdom is a knowledge of divine and human things, and of their causes.

4Mcc 1:18-19 And the forms of wisdom (the Greek word sofia) are prudence, and righteousness, and manliness and temperance. The leading one of these is prudence; by whose means, indeed, it is that reasoning bears rule over the passions.

4Mcc 1:30 For reasoning is the leader of the virtues (the Greek word arete), but it is the sole ruler of the passions.

If we are Westerners, how can we educate without educating arete ?

And, as it is clear in 4 Mcc, how can the Christian religion be without arete? The Spiritual life depends on arete. How can Christian education not include arete? St. Peter makes it clear in his letter that faith must be supplemented by Arete.

IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN KNOWLEDGE, ACADEMICS.

Socialists teach and preach Unisexism. This is ungodly counsel. Unisexism is not Christian or godly or righteous. Socialists disdain virtue; look on how they attack the Boy Scouts. The very meaning of arete is contrary to unisexism. Unisexism is based on opinion that men and women are equal. To accomplish this task, one must masculinize women and effeminize men.
