  1. You will have to have dedicated Scouts and parents to pull this off. My last year as WEBELOS Den Leader, I had three boys in this situation. I had them work on two badges each month, if they finished one or two early I assigned them more, we worked on the badges that they needed of course. The rest of the den had all completed their AOL by December, So they pichted in and helped the boys memorize all of the Boy Scout Stuff, great teaching moment for the more experienced boys. It is had work on all involved, you especially, as you are going to be running two programs at the same time.
  2. If your Scout Camp is like ours, the best thing that i took was a stadium seat with good padding. The Scouters that did not, had them for the second weekend. Robert L. DeWitt Chickasaw District Georgia Carolina Council Boy Scouts of America
  3. Then you have Scouters, like me, this year I had a heart attack, found out I need a lung transplant. The military took a severe toll on my knees and back. BUT I still can serve, I just understand my limitations. I will not participate in high adventure activities, or really strenous activities. but there are still many ways that I can support the troop as an ASM. There are plenty of ways to utilize what I lwarned at WoodBadge, and all of the other trainings that I have completed. So perfect physical fitness is not nessessary to do all of the work need in a troop. Robert L. DeWitt Ass
  4. I am feeling very frustrated right now. I just sufferewd a heart attack, and also diagnosed with lung cancer. So this has curtialed my scouting, znd caused my son to drop out because Dad is not able to participate now. Now I asm not looking for sympathy, I am looking on how to get my son back into the program, and figure out how to stay involved. Any suggestions would be appricated. Robert L. DeWitt Chickasaw District Georgia Carolina Council Boy Scouts of America

  8. My son started in the 3rd grade and is now a 2nd year scout, going to his second year summer camp. So I say yes that he can jump right in, and who knows, he might even overcome his shyness. Robert L. DeWitt ASM Troop 12 Chickasaw District Georgia Carolina Council Augusta, Ga And A Good Ole Bear SR-691

  10. What is the current revision of the BALOO Sylabus? We are having a course on the 20th and I am trying to make sure that we have the most current revision. Thanks. Robert L. DeWitt ASM Troop 12 Chickasaw District Georgia Carolina Council Augusta, Ga And A Good Ole Bear SR-691
  11. Some how or another I fell through the crack, even though I tried to get beaded at the finial weekend of the latest Wood Badge course, which ended the last weekend of April. So I requested that I be beaded at a Roundtable, and last night was the last Roundtable until August. So I took it. All of the Roundtable members that were Wood Badge Trained were very upset, about the circumstances. But at least I am now Fully Wood Badge Trained. I really wanted my Patrol and Troop Guide there but time did not allow for it to happen. Robert L. DeWitt ASM Troop 12 Chickasaw District Georgia Car
  12. After waiting since January I just found out I am getting Beaded tonight at Roundtable. Robert L. DeWitt ASM Troop 12 Chickasaw District Georgia Carolina Council Augusta, Ga And A Good Ole Bear SR-691

  14. Just a point of information, the green Boy Scout belt, is larger and the Belt Loops will not fit on it, if they want to continue to wear the belt loops the will have to wear the Cub Scout blue belt. Robert
  15. The best advise that I can give is to take the WEBELOS Den Leader specific training, and purchase a copy of the WEBELOS Den Leader Manual. Both will explain the differences in the two Ranks differences and how to put them on. You as the Den Leader are the sole person responsible for signing off in their handbooks. Also look on USSCOUTS web site, they have good information and links to other information. Robert
