  1. Looks like a few people have been asking. There is a new entry on the blog about how the producer feels about scouting.

But my objective in making "The Last Eagle Scout" was not to spark controversy, but maybe to start a debate, a discussion. The focus on the film is on political correctness, not the Boy Scouts. I personally love the Boy Scouts. I was never one, mostly because where I lived the leadership wasn't there. But I am a scout master now and have served on many levels in scouting for the past 12 years. Both my sons have been or are now in scouting. I believe in the scout law, motto, oath and so forth. With that in mind, I believe the scouts to be one of the last great institutions for young men.

Found at http://thelasteaglescout.blogspot.com/ in the Feb 3 entry.

    So, he's one of us!

  2. Though I was a scout, I'm new to the adult side of scouting. Don't the physical requirements mostly restrict high-adventure and remote activities? I don't remember a hard limit to simply be a volunteer but I'll have to reread that.

BTW, Santa can't bring you that stuff silly. He doesn't meet the physical or safety requirements!

  3. Around here we sometimes get below 40F in the summer. How would cubs up north or in Alaska ever camp? I don't know what the rule is. I also understand that people in the area are used to different climates. If there is a line for the temperature I would think there would be for humidity as well. Neither would do well with the same line across the country.

  4. Part of how the Tiger program is set up is using host families. When the den meeting is at their house they help plan the program. No one get out of program planning entirely but the CPA can schedule their host time to not be tax season.

As CC I emphasized that to my Tiger DL who promptly said "Would you like to host next month?" Yep. But it gives me a chance to help her get some momentum and set the tone for parents. (My son is a tiger.)
