Bob White 20 Posted May 25, 2004 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Any trained SM should have no difficulty being approved as a merit badge counselor for those merit badges. Once they have registered as a counselor they are free to work with any scout, even ones in the troop they serve. But yes, they need to be registered and approved for those specific merit badges.
