What is meant by Direct Contact?

I keep hearing about certain leaders having Direct Contact with the youth, and others that don't.

Who has Direct Contact and why don't others have it?

Thanks

Pete

With the limmited info, I can guess. The Cub Scout program has positions (Den Leaders, Cubmaster, and assistants) that have "Direct Contact" with the boys. The Committee, on the other hand, does not have "Direct Contact" as far as their scout duties are concerned. Now usually they are parents and do have direct contact but NOT as a scouter.

This is like the cook in a school. They do not have direct contact with the kids like the teachers do. Doesn't mean the kids don't see them or know them but they do not have direct contact in their job.
