Sir_Scoutalot 10
What's the best place to locate large leather or canvas pieces for constructing a patrol flag? I tried this a couple of years ago and was unable to locate a big leather piece at the local craft store. Any advice on paints, sealants, and other materials related to construction would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance ...
EagleInKY 14
We called around some local flag dealers and found one that sold "blanks". I'm guessing they are about 18x30 inches. The boys used markers to color on them, which turned out to be a mistake. Plain ball-point pens or waterproof paint worked better.
SemperParatus 1
Did you try Tandy Leather? - they should be online.
SeattlePioneer 144
I collect pieces of brightly colored cloth when I find them for use as raw material for patrol or den flags. Last weekend, a Cub Pack used these materials to make den flags for all the dens. I pick them up at thrift shops or garage sales, sometimes buying old clothes with useful cloth in them. If Scouts want something fancier, I figure they can Scout it out themselves. Seattle Pioneer
