Friendship Knots

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where or how the giving and wearing of Friendship Knots started?

Also, does anyone have instructions on how to easily tie the Friendship Knot.

Thanks.

There are a couple of different knots that are referred to as friendship knots. This first link is for a chinese sqare knot or ten knot because the cross on one side looks like the character for "10". I have seen scouters tie this knot in a friends wood badge beads. This is a pretty good diagram. It will take a couple of tries to memorize it.

This second knot is also called a friendship knot by some. It is a diamond knot or Bowswain's whistle knot.
