WW2 Scout uniforms

heyo, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I figure I should ask here first.

The person who I consider my 'brother from another mother" is about to get his Eagle. And he requested that I do a painting with the theme "Ever Vigilant" to commemorate this. For this, I decided on a Scout standing guard in front of a fortress-type building.

 

I need a photo of a WW2 or WW1 era BSA uniform so I can complete this. google images didn't help so I'm hoping here someone can show me.

Try searching for "vintage" boy scout uniforms. There are hundreds of images on the web. Good luck.

If you look at the Scouter dot Com group on Facebook, there is an excellent example:

 

Basically the same uniform worn until 1972 - except with a campaign hat.

NARA.gov has some good WWII photos. Also checkout state archives. Doing a project last year, I foudn some cool photos from 1907 all the way to today in a variety of online sources. Found pics of Lindbergh, Pres. Ford, and other photos.

Also, Google Books ( http://books.google.com ) has Boys Life magazine going back to the beginning of time. (They also have Scouting magazine, but I don't know how far back that goes.)

 

I believe they're also linked from the Boys Life site.

 

Browsing a few issues from the era in question will probably give you lots of ideas.

also, Rockwell's paintings ran from 1925-76, should should be useful.
