karl65 10
I am an Eagle Scout from 25 years ago. Now my nephew is receiving his Eagle and has asked me to MC his CoH. I wanted to know if it is acceptable to wear my Eagle medal with my suit and tie during the CoH?
Gold Winger 9
Sure. Why not?
MissingArrow 12
It is very common to see Eagle Scouts who are not currently involved in Scouting wear their Eagle Medal with "civilian" clothes for Eagle Court of Honors.
scoutldr 739
Absolutely! Congrats to your nephew!
ljnrsu 10
Definitely wear your medal. Congratulations to your nephew.
Eagle92 110
I may get some flack here, but her it goes; why not wear a pair of grey trousers, white shirt, blue blazer and some type of patriotic tie with your Eagle medal. FYI the Professional uniform, aka dress uniform, is the above except you wear one of the professional ties,i.e. "barber stripe," CSEWC tie, the current 'power tie" etc.
Gold Winger 9
FYI, the dress uniform also includes a BSA emblem on the breast pocket.
Beavah 205
Yah, perfectly acceptable karl65. The custom is very much what MissingArrow describes. Wear your medal with pride, and congrats to your nephew, eh!
GKlose 24
I have no idea if this is common or not, but our troop recently held an Eagle CoH and towards the end of the ceremony, when the new Eagle Scout took his oath, he was joined on stage by every other Eagle Scout present, and they took the oath together. One adult was wearing his medal with a blazer.
Gold Winger 9
I think that is common at Eagle Courts or some variation. All of the Eagle Courts that I've been to have had all the Eagles stand and do the oath.
